As we know, history can show us the people and culture of our ethnic group because it includes historical events that are recorded in documents overtime by researchers, historians and people of that country. We want to know about the past because we find it challenging, frustrating, exciting. And all of us believe that by expanding our experience to the lives of men and women in different times and places, history teaches us valuable things both about others and ourselves.
Firstly, we learn history to know about our origin. Study of history is the broadest and the most searching approach to the question of who we are as both individuals and ethnic group. Furthermore, we explore about how humankind has changed since its ancestors walked on the land. Beside that, history teaches us what is special about a particular land and people and we also know about characteristics of human beings, how their thought and behavior.
Historical memory is the key to self-identity who one is. Everyone has a memory system, what happened in the life which recorded by their own brain and form the character …show more content…

In my opinion, the major reason of studying history is to have a connection to the other people in the country. In order to have a solidary community, we need to have a common culture that binds us. For example, in U.S today, they do not have a common religion or a common ethnic heritage. What a disadvantage! So when we all know what our country has stood for and been about over the years, we are able to feel that we are a part of the whole and the other parts of the whole are like us in some important ways.
Finally, we study history because it is exciting and fun. Maybe not for you. Certainly not for all but for some.
Yes, we can see that learning history helps us know many useful and interesting things. Nowadays, people gradually bored in studying history but I know that they still notice how history is
