One of the most controversial topics we see today is that of marijuana. Should it be legal or illegal? Recreational marijuana is legal in three states, while medical marijuana is distributed in four. The questions, answers, and thousands of opinions never end. We do have some information that is true; it does wonders for many people, especially patients with sicknesses, or even children that use this as a medicine. The use of marijuana has been successful in many ways, making the future look very bright for this safe drug. Marijuana is a blessing to society. There has never been a marijuana overdose, unlike many other drugs, that average about 40,000 a year. That right there alone shows that marijuana is a safe drug; alcohol causes more harm than any other drug, yet it’s legal. Marijuana is simple when it comes to using it, it can be ingested in food, drinks, and oils, and if preferred it can be smoked. This makes it possible …show more content…

This drug has been used as a safe pain and sleeping aid. Kids that suffer from epilepsy and seizures have had fewer and some have none now after using this drug. Old people who suffer from depression when losing their loved one have had success with this drug, even stating that it helps treat their arthritis. Patients with HIV/AIDS have used marijuana to help their loss of appetite; the amount of success never ends with this drug. Medical marijuana is popular with helping cancer patients. It has helped patients under going chemotherapy with decreasing vomiting and nausea. As stated before it helps many cancer patients with loss of appetite. Results show that patients who use marijuana were able to go through their treatment with less pain medication. All these patients will have success somewhere along these lines, it may not cure cancer, but it’s definitely a positive during this tough time in their
