Each day forty students either are hurt or killed by firearms. The perpetrator probably hid the firearm in their locker to then pull it out and start to fire. Locker searches reduce the majority of adolescents that store drugs, stolen items, or any material that shouldn’t be on school property. When there is something that catches the eyes of people such as a fashionable jacket, then an adolescent could steal it. Locker searches are another avenue to find stolen property.
Students school environment should be overall safe and supportive. When a parent sends their child to school for eight hours they should feel confident that their child will return safely, and students should feel comfortable to learn and grow. No parent wants a broken heart from a phone call saying their child has been shot. I recommend that enhancing the existing federal policy that gives local school districts the flexibility to use resources to fund student services personnel (including counselors, psychologists, and therapists) as well as appropriate training for teachers to identify mental health problems. In the Parkland, Florida school shooting, the gunman was a student, who had demonstrated serious mental illness and that he had planned out the school shooting as he posted on his YouTube channel.
Teachers should carry guns to decrease school shootings all over the world. Teachers should be taking classes and learning how the gun works and how to use the gun or weapons. Teachers should only have there guns on them in their rooms or in a safe in their rooms. Teachers should also be considering Trump's idea and start having guns in school and all teachers need to have the guns with them or in their rooms.
It may seem a little invasive, but schools are permitted to use drug dogs to sniff out contraband during unannounced, random searches and it becomes a controversial problem for all. The use of drug-sniffing dogs in schools is permitted because students do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy in the school and school search did not go against the Fourth Amendment, which is the right of people to be secure in their personal spaces houses and papers. While drug dogs are becoming more and more commonplace in our public schools and to maintaining a drug-dog program can cost district estimates $12,000 and $36,000 every year. Drug dog must go through a long period of time of training and drug dogs are not dangerous to people, but instead it protects people. Without reservation, we must know the history background, advantages, and disadvantages of having a drug dog searches.
Falling into Place Over 3.2 million students are victims of bullying each year. Approximately 160,000 teens skip school every day because of bullying. Hollister’s handbook needs to be changed in the bullying section. I personally think they need to change it to make it more student and teacher friendly.
This is proof that exercising these programs primarily at school is not the solution, which indicates more needs to be done in these children’s homes. According to Maslow’s hierarchy, there are needs that must be met for children and without the needs being meet, it results in unacceptable behaviors like bullying. If parents at home can become aware of what is happening in schools, then parents can meet the children’s needs and educate them on how to be an advocate for
No matter how many times a day we wash our hands, if not vaccinated, we can catch the flu. When flu season comes around, teachers constantly remind their students to wash their hands and to be cautious of what they touch. In schools where vaccinations are required by state law, the flu is not as common but can still
Racial inequality is happening in schools, when police are on searches for suspect, and health care. By all means, U.S. citizens still live in a society where racial injustice is still prevalent; therefore, some people are denied equal rights based on race. To begin, racial injustice is happening in school and some students are not being treated equally. Taylissa and Jayla are two of only a few black students in the high school of just under 400 students in rural Nevada. According to the article “2 Teens Say No One Stopping Racist Bullying in Nevada Town” from US News, the author mentions, Taylissa's mom, Nancy Marriott-Tolliver and stepfather, Charles Tolliver, say Taylissa and her stepsister, Jayla Tolliver, both 14, have been the victims of repeated racial bullying at school ( ).
The importance of information technology in education is to facilitate for those student want to explore new knowledge or get information to finish their task in classroom. This system makes easier for students to find any company that EITU suggested. This system also will give a feedback when some company are accepts student to do Industrial Training in that company. Weakness of this system is that too many links page to see the names of companies that have been provided. This link is not so interesting because too many users but not well
“Every two minutes another American is sexually assaulted” (Scope of the Problem). Schools needs to do more to inform and protect their students against sexual assault. Most people are the victims of sexual assault because they don’t know how to prevent it. If people are required to learn more about how to prevent sexual assault like say in a school then the number of sexual assaults per year should greatly decrease.
In the classroom they is phone number for poison center and, other emergency numbers is posted where they can be seen. They is exit door in the classroom. The fire extinguisher can be reached easily and Mrs. Johnson informed me that all the staff members know how to use them. Also, the smoke detector system is in very room the children spend time.
There has been 215 shootings in America since 2013. Nowadays, kindergarten students prepare for school shooting like it is a thing that we have accepted in society. No to mention, that we are get trained in a this type of situation like how we get trained for a natural disaster. The years before we would only prepare for tornadoes, hurricanes and earthquakes. In like manner, we prepare for school shootings like some natural disaster.
Even though some people may disagree, random locker searches should be an issue that is enforced. Parents do not want their children in danger to due to some adolescents. Drugs and guns could be secluded and then there could be a prodigious chance of somebody getting hurt. Having drugs at school is restricted and dangerous. It is dangerous because somebody could use some, go crazy, and hurt people.
The carnage at Columbine alarmed hundreds of schools across the nation and influenced schools safety practices greatly. In this present era, school shootings appear to be becoming normality in America. After the shooting, schools both locally and internationally have significantly increased their security procedures. There are many different upgrades that schools have implemented to help prevent further tragedies; metal detectors are used to detect weaponry on-hand as well as security cameras on site all around the building – inside and out. These methods also include dress codes, security/police officials and ID room cards, the latter being implemented on my campus.
