A positive effect of the plan has to do with a student’s retention of knowledge. In a school that has a three month summer break, students forget some of the knowledge they had learned. In a year-round school, the students would retain more of their knowledge. They will still forget a few things, but it is not nearly as much as their counterparts who have a three month break.
Many schools have embraced the idea of year-long education with the thought of increasing test scores, but the benefits of year-longs school may not be in favor of the students. Forty-one percent of all public schools within the country
Some just get tired of doing the same job after a period of time and just want a change in there life. There also people who just like to learn and take classes just for the challenge and enjoyment, learning something new, or they don’t have anything to do and like the idea of spending time learning, there also people that don’t have the confidence or the maturity, and need time to grow a little before attempting to go back to school. Some join the service and travel the world while protecting the country, then retire in 20 years then get out, and are able to go back to school for a free education on some of benefits they entitled to from enlisting in service. These are just a few of the reasons to going back to
I believe continued education is the best. Upon graduating high school, students are faced with reality of attending college right away or waiting to try and find themselves in the real world. Those who are not academically nor financially prepared to attend college right after high school will most likely take a break. Taking long breaks from education can distract one and may lead to taking more than one year of a break. While taking a break from school before going to college, may cause some people to become young parents, then going back to school will not be a priority because now the main focus will be about their child.

In the long run, summer homework does not accomplish what we assume it does, takes away from opportunities to learn other important life skills that can not be taught in classroom, and greatly reduces all the benefits of a free summer such as enhanced cognitive skills, social skills, teamwork, increased well-being, and many more. Let kids be kids and have free summers! Given all these points, while summer homework may seem like a good way to keep kids brains woking, reinforce lessons learned at school and preserve continuity of education, there are many more reasons why summer homework should be banned. While I realize that some young minds may be dulled over the summer if they are bored, giving summer homework is not an answer. Instead, a small assignment may be in order.
As for the other students, they just didn't have the aim in life, and that is why they chose to not learn as well as they could and felt that they only wanted to be average. I think that nowadays we have the same
Terrence had a communication or motor skill problem. Just to get signed off for the IEP. I can't the meeting spoke about possible summer school everyone decline due to I could help or not help Terrence. Everyone thought that Terrence need more time to adjust his current foster home and social life before returning to school in the fall. That's the ass this is principal if there something that I could do a social development for Terrence.
If you fail, you will go to summer school. This is a commonly used phrase used by parents to threaten their children to work harder. Some think that summer school will raise their child’s grades, but is going to summer school really the best option? Summer school does not benefit students because it cost money, causes stress, and makes less time for friends and family. One reason that summer school does not perk students is it comes with a price tag.
“What do we live for if its not to make life less difficult for each other?” Many of us students struggle throughout High School with parents getting divorced, loosing a loved one, teenage pregnancy, and family issues etc. These obstacles shouldn’t get in the way of continuing with life and furthering in our education and future. No one has it easy that’s why being a mentor for students my age and younger meant a difference in the world. Making it a little easier for students not to always see the bad was my goal.
Gladwell begins with showing how America has trouble with education crisis. Arguments about education surround around teachers and students. Gladwell believes that summer vacation is an issue because it tends to be a long vacation required by the district. Gladwell demonstrates how achievement in many ways holds existence to a summer break without driving apart higher income children. Allowing them more months of school to make those children who cannot afford to have a productive summer, to have a useful.
The only reason people wouldn’t agree would be because they want to spend time with their children, but they will still be able to because year round schooling gives short bursts of breaks about two weeks every other month(Towler). Finally, Year-Round Schooling would be a great idea to interpret and merge into our school . so that we can not just learn more but not be stressed out and forget what we learned the previous year. What they don’t know is that the People around kids need them to go to school all the time not just for education but, also so they may go to work and feed their families.
The Summer Stay Scholarship would not only help me to achieve my educational goals but will also benefit my future career. By taking summer classes I will be able to complete all of class requirements to graduate on time. This will also allow me to complete other classes that I would like so specialize in during my time in school. Specifically, I would like to achieve my minor in sign language. Without taking summer courses I will not be able to receive this minor without an extra semester at school or overburdening myself for a few semesters.
Why do you want to participate in the Bridges Summer Program? Participating in the Bridges Summer Program will help me greatly in the transition between high school and college. Reading about the program I have learned that this program is meant to help students transition to a college-level work environment and I know that I need this type of help. The good thing about this program is that they help students individually and this way students will have a better chance at really being prepared to start college in the fall.
Traditional school schedules have kids in school from late summer until late spring, the year-round schedule has kids in school all year but the difference is there are longer breaks in the year-round schedule. It is time to switch from the traditional schedule to the year-round schedule because students learn better and don’t lose information over a long summer break, is more convenient for everyone and reduces the stress of school and makes it more enjoyable. To begin students under the current school schedule where there is one long break in the summer are more vulnerable to losing the information they have learned the past year. Summer break causes students to forget material that they have learned which causes problems because it wastes
