The founding father created the constitution because there were many problems with the Article of Confederation. One reason, because the federal government under this system was unstable and inefficient. Too much power was given to the state legislature. Another reason, because some people argued over creating new states. The constitution was created so therefore not one person could hold all the powers to make the decisions. The Articles of Confederation failed because they did not give Congress and the national government enough power. The new Constitution addressed many of the problems created by the Articles. The central government created by the Articles was weak. Congress could not regulate trade or agreements between the states or with other nations. American citizens wanted a fair system that could unify the state and protect their rights so that's why the founding father created the constitution. The new Constitution increased the power of the national government and allowed for free trade between states. That's why the constitution succeeded where the Article of Confederation failed. …show more content…

Each branch held a different duty and responsibility. The legislative branch includes both houses of Congress: the Senate and the House of Representatives and its job is to create laws. The laws then passed to the Executive branch which headed by the president where they are approved or rejected. The approved laws are enforced by the Judicial branch which consists of the supreme court and the lower federal court where they interprets the laws. These three branches are not entirely separated nor completely of one another. Rather, they are tied together by a complex system of checks and balance. This means that each branch has certain powers with which it can check the operations of the other
