World War Two caused the death of millions of innocent people and the destruction of thousands of years of civilisation through the viciousness of mankind. World War Two started on the 3rd of September 1939 when the allied forces declared war against Germany after the unprovoked attack of Poland and didn’t end until 1945 with the defeat of the Japanese imperial forces. The battle of Kokoda began on July 21st 1942 when the Japanese imperial army invaded Papua New Guinea with the intent of capturing Port Moresby and using it as a launching point onto Australian soil. The battle ended on January 23rd 1943, resulting in an Allied victory. There were four peoples at war in Kokoda, those were the Australians and the Americans, who were allied.
Both of these things helped improve the chance for America. A bunch of soldiers were killed and could not return home to their families. He was one of the very few who survived both wars and was never captured as a slave. He was very blunt about his experiences but then again you should be when telling your story of the war. War is a very surreal thing and it takes a special someone to enlist in the armed forces.

Murphy was awarded over 33 combat awards for his service, including thirteen Medals of Valor and three Purple Heart medals.

His role in the Holocaust is greatly significant because of the way that he punished, treated, and through of jews using concentration camps. In concentration camps jews were gassed, imprisoned and forced to do things that they didn't want to like forced labor.
Of course, every country who participated in the war had some sort of reason. Although it wasn’t a single country
Captain Dennis Whittaker of The Royal Hamilton Light Infantry (RHLI) fought on the front line at The Battle of Dieppe. He explains how the officers had no real training. He said, “They simply played soldier on weekends. The CO, Colonel Bob Labatt, was a stockbroker.” Whittaker talks about Bob Labatt in the interview and emphasizes how he was very untrained and was not strategic or passionate about his job as a colonel.
During the holocaust there were tons of horrible things going on, but there were still a few people who tried to make things better. In this research essay I am going to talk about the heroes that really caught my eye by the things they’ve done to try and make things better. Irene was born in Poland into a Catholic family. She hid in the forest until she was found by a Russian Solider who had raped and beaten her. Rugemer liked her so much that she later became his house keeper.
Veterans Day Veterans Day is an official holiday we celebrate on November 11th, we celebrate all those living and dead who served in the US armed forces. The formal name of Veterans day was Armistice day and was changed to Veteran’s day by President Eisenhower in 1954. The first Veterans day celebrated was on November 11th 1919, a year after World War I ended. Veterans day started when there was an agreement signed in 1918 on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month to end World War I. Veteran’s Day is often confused with Memorial day but Memorial day is honoring the past military and Veteran’s day honors all, living and dead.
Hitler was the main aggressor during 1939 who everyone appeased to, who is infamously known for his rise to power, his persecution of Jews, and his attacks on the world to dominate, that killed so many. Neville Chamberlain, the British Prime Minister, believed in the policy of appeasement and appeased Hitler at the Munich Conference which eventually lead to the start of World War II. The Western Powers responded to aggression with appeasement, and in 1939 the world was plunged into World War II, proving to the world that collective security is a better response to aggression. Hitler’s aggression was the main reason why Allied powers felt the need to appease. In 1930, after the Reichstag fire, Adolf Hitler rose to power because he was appointed

Munich, Germany is where the Nazi Party was formed in 1920. Munich was a major industrial and transport center and that is what made this city a major target for the allied bombers. Munich also created the first concentration camp 10 miles west of the city.
