Poverty is a social problem that affects a significant amount of individuals across all cultures. However, the youth growing up in these conditions are becoming susceptible to falling into deviance provided by their peers. Young individuals born into poverty have little opportunities to advance because they unfortunately didn 't win the genetic lottery of being higher class citizens. In the song “Institutionalized” by Kendrick Lamar (Kendrick 2015), suggests that poverty has become an institution where individuals are held hostage to their social class for being born into poverty. Kendrick uses the phrase “master take the chains off me” (Kendrick 2015 line 15) to emphasize the strength of poverty and how it is so closely related to slavery.
In this paper I will be discussing how Boys and Girls Clubs are used as a deterrence method to keep “at-risk” children off the streets. These programs are all across the country in inner cities and in rural areas. I will be using the Boys and Girls Club to look at its relationship with Social Disorganization theory. The Boys and Girls Club has been around since 1860, when three women decided to open their doors to underprivileged boys. They “believed that boys who roamed the streets should have a positive alternative” (Boys & Girls Clubs of America).

Having a job can help students become more responsible.

However, it can be argued that there is a lack of progress regarding the issues young people have highlighted as priorities. The youth organisations discussed, Mind Out, NYPs, BBBS, work from a personal development youth work model. (Kiely 2009, p. 22) They are concerned with enabling young people to manage their lives and integrate into existing society.
However, they do not understand the condition of society is determined by the performance of public service and bureaucracy is needed in order for them to receive the benefits that are expected. One factor of social change is an increasing population. As population grows, so does the government and its bureaucracy with its programs that contribute to healthcare, transportation and education. “ [The drinking age] is unfavorable because it forces youth to consume alcohol in unsupervised places that are risky and consumption may be abused.” The idea is, if the drinking age is lowered, youth will be able to drink in open, public places that can be supervised by others. By being public, it would decrease the risky behavior seen with alcohol in private, unsupervised settings. Pomata also asserts, “The age restriction inspires undesirable activities just as the National Prohibition Act did.” Some undesirable activities that are associated with underage drinking include the making and distributing of fake ID’s.
Earning money is an unavoidable necessity for them”(Faulmuller). This is showing that these children that are sent to work, are working to benefit their families and themselves in hopes of pulling each other out of the poverty hole. “For example, when the U.S. Congress threatened to ban the import of clothing made by children under 14 in Bangladesh, around 50.000 of them went from their jobs in the relatively clean textile factories to collecting garbage, breaking bricks, or even prostitution. Moreover, economic modelling research implies that in certain situations (where demand is

As CONRAD BURNS said “ Vocational education programs have made a real different the lives of countless young people nationwide ; they build self-confidence and leadership skills by allowing students to utilize their unique gift and talent “ .In fact, societal pressure had crushed the Senegalese society. Adults are more likely to be unemployed because of physical and mental health challenges. Adults also tend to be unemployed because of cyclical, structural and frictional unemployment. Unemployment also goes into hand with homelessness and panhandling, because there is not enough jobs people are ending up homeless and looking for other ways to get money. Unemployment in Kenya is attributed to a number of factors that include: rapid growth of the population and the labour force, skill mismatch, information problems in the labour market, structural adjustment programs, slow or declining economic growth, and the labour market setup, among others. High population growth rate in Kenya has resulted in a relatively young population and a large population of youth in the population of the working age (Njonjo, 2010).
