Why should students choose their courses?
Most universities nowadays offer many courses which don not related to the major the students study. They require general information and knowledge to give you a graduation certificate. I am a full time Mechanical Engineering student, and I don’t feel comfortable with what I learn, and I even don’t know why should I learn some materials don’t belong to my major, and I don’t really need them. Students should choose the courses they learn to give the passion to educate, help them to success, encourage their creativity, and fight the failure.
Students should choose the courses they learn to give them the passion to educate. If the student feels comfortable in what he learn he would easy like to go for education. That will help them to get higher grades, as they do what they like. For example, if someone likes to study mathematics, and we give him permission to choose the courses related to what he likes, then, we can help him to be a mathematics scientist. Depending on the individual 's environment, the individual will make a mental list of things they want to learn. They go out exploring trying to learn the info they know will probably be useful to them for their own survival, health, comfort, happiness, freedom, and overall well-being. Each person lives in a

In the book “How to Develop Student Creativity”, authors Robert Sternberg and Wendy Williams state, "The most powerful way to develop creativity in your students is to be a role model. Children develop creativity not when you tell them to, but when you show them.", so they have to get their freedom to choose their courses. They should get freedom to have the choice to pick their subjects, so they have practice and experience of what subjects they want to do in high school, so when they get high school they know what they are and what they are good at and what they want to do in the
This allows me control over my education, so I can avoid being pressured into a class or a major that is not right for me. As a matter of fact, author Virginia N. Gordon found statistical evidence that about 75 percent of students change their major at least once before graduation (Freedman). The ability to explore different paths will ultimately comfort students because they know their major is out there somewhere. By being able to pick from a variety of majors, students do not have to worry about wasting their money by being forced into a major. For this
College is far too often seen as the holy grail, the ultimate goal for students. However, this is not the case. Other options, like Vocational schools, offer up-to-date opportunities. College, on the other hand, causes unwanted stress. A 4-Year College should not be considered the only way to be successful.
According to Laurie Futterman who chairs the science department and teaches gifted middle school science at David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center, “Reading, math and science aren’t for everyone — and we need to realize that. ”(“Beyond the Classroom: Electives in School — Essential or Entertaining?”)Students can get amazing impacts from electives. Elective can change the way students go through their life. Electives should be allowed to stay in middle and high schools because it can help students find their hidden talents, it can help them find their future job, and find ways to get better grades.
Picking to attend a Community college for me is the best choice that I picked for my education. Community colleges provide a great service to students in many more ways other than just education. They help students who are unsure what they want to do or are unable to attend a four year university. Community Colleges also provide continuing education even after they have gotten a degree and a job.
Students not only need to gain the knowledge for the field that they will be working in, but more importantly they need the knowledge of basic life skills on how to think and react to life experiences. It is important for people to understand that knowledge is power, and knowing that it’s not all about you is one of the best realizations one can have. We are all here to collectively work together for some type of common goal. No one person is more valuable than the other. So the next time we are waiting in line in Walmart, we shouldn’t be cursing about how the cashier is too slow, or that they need to open more lines because we are in a hurry.
Today more and more people are going to college. Most people go to college to build their knowledge and to study a specific field that they want to get a job in some day. College is marketed to most people as a creative place where they will learn everything they need to know to get a job and enter the “real world”. As college students right now, don’t get us wrong we do learn many things but, we have found that in many classes we take, we just focus on getting a good grade or a passing grade. At the end of the semester we walk out of some class barely learning a thing because we retain information just long enough to do good on a test or exam and then forget it all together when the class is done.
