The essential aspect of a self-directed, intrinsically motivated, active learner ate those basic skills that empowers the students who are learning outside of the classroom environment to learn on their own and survive the human race. Therefore, these aspects include the following:
1. They take initiative: The successful self-directed, intrinsically motivated active learner does not wait for a teacher to say, “You must learn”. The learner takes the initiative to learn.
2. They are comfortable with independent learning: The self-directed learner can with the aid of a computer and internet learn alone. Such a learner has no difficulty doing this because they have learnt to be self-reliant, self-directing and self-motivating techniques.

TWO AREAS OF PERSONAL WEAKNESS IN BEING A SELF-MOTIVATED AND ENGAGED STUDENT:
1. When I encounter a challenging problem, I try to solve it by myself. This is a great weakness I am having as an independent learner who is studying alone and staying alone apart from family members with no physical peer or instructor to turn to for help. There are logical challenging problems in mathematics that requires elaborate practical illustrations, explanation and examples to enable the student to understand. I am truly missing the visible presence of peers, school mates, class mates, study groups and instructors who can be easily contacted for help when the need arises.
2. As an independent self-motivated learner, I do not have a network of people in my life that I can count on for help. In conventional classroom learning, students have a network of people in their lives to offer assistance in case of difficulties. All these are missing in an independent self-motivated

Spacing my learning: My weekly academic work with UoPeople have been well spaced in such a way that my work leaves me with ample time for my studies. I have time to read, research and write my assignments and make entries into learning journal, do peer assessment and take quizzes without constraints. With this plan, I have opportunity to go over my works and assignments and make necessary adjustment where needed.
2. Learn different learning techniques: Different learning techniques will empower a student to learn effectively at varying conditions. There are subjects that requires memorization to understand them whereas there are subjects like programming that requires practice to comprehend them. Listening skills for instance is essential in learning from audio documentaries. Different learning techniques is essential in making necessary adjustment which is essential for surviving varying academic challenges.
3. Connect new information to previous knowledge: There is the tendency with students to forget previous knowledge when exposed with new information. The skill to transfer previous knowledge and discover how they sync with new information is very crucial in grasping how the various sub-topics forms a body of knowledge. I strive to see how new information is connected to previous knowledge so that the chain of thought development is not
Christian’s cheerful, friendly smile, kind heart and playful spirit make him well liked by his classmates and teacher alike. As a student, Christian has proven himself to be hard working, aiming to do what is expected of him. As it is not always easy for Christian to understand and follow directions without support, he works best when an assignment is broken down into small steps and modeled for him. It has been a pleasure to see Christian become more responsible with his homework assignments, making a conscious effort to make sure he has all of his materials and completing assignments on time. As it takes time for Christian to get himself organized, he is strongly encouraged to use his transition time between classes wisely, as he has a tendency to get distracted by his friends in the hallway, which causes him to be late to class or be unprepared with his materials.
Nowadays when we are not sure of question we turn towards the Internet, to try and find answers. In the Article "You Still Need Your Brain," Daniel Willingham argues that memorizing facts remains an essential skill even in today's world of internet searches. He builds his argument by first acknowledging the importance of technology and then explaining why it cannot replace human memory. . Willingham provides scientific evidence and real-life examples to support his claim, making a compelling case for the value of memorization in our ever-changing world.
For example the study of history, most students memorize the study guide to pass the exams, and shortly after much of the information is forgotten (Paul & Elder 2012). As a Surgical Technologist we use activated knowledge more often than we think. In a run of a day, the techs on evening shift have 4 to 5 surgeries that we have little experience in, so we have to memorize knowledge given to us by co-workers, more efficient in the area, in order to perform the surgery to the liking of the specific
Firstly, I learned that I feel overworked whenever I am trying to accomplish something. This fact assists me academically because I can try and determine what my boundaries are and what homework I can for sure achieve in a day without trying to stress myself out. Another trait about myself that I realized is essential for me academically is that it does not matter "whether or not there is logical flow in the presentation of the material," (Human Metrics). Essentially, this is saying that if I learn something, it does not matter if there is a very general, specific order to this. Instead, it can be spontaneous and out of order or it could be in a specific order as well.

As a student I have many Weaknesses however I also have strengths which can help me overcome my weaknesses. One of my weaknesses is time management I tend to waste time watching my favorite Tv shows or spend time on social media. Another weakness I have is I tend to loose focus and get bored. those are some weaknesses I have which make me a bad student. In order to overcome those weaknesses I have started being more organized than I ever was, I use things like calendars and planners to mark important dates so I wont forget.

What is the consequence if we didn`t apply these practices in training? The average human brain does whatever it always does: forgets, and fast. Without active help to transfer everything essential into the long-term memory this is unavoidable. So don`t blame yourself for not remembering many things from a previous traditional course or school – this is absolutely normal human nature.
This report is about improving students’ memory. The aim to research on this topic is to help students to improve their memory and be have better prepared for exam. Improving memories will take time to improve. The effectiveness will be shown if taking a conscious effort to improve.
Each person learn differently from each other. There are some ways of what people need to do to help them learn the information better. For example, the visual learner need be good at seeing and analyzing pictures or and type of data that is given. As well as for auditory. The people that have this learning style need to be good at listing and also need to sit closer where they can listen more.
By adequately preparing, I set myself up for success and mental stability. By collaborating with my classmates, I reduce the workload and allow myself to dedicate more time to work that will ease my studying. By using effective study methods, I am able to focus more when I learn the material, which in turn, results in me retaining more information in less time. My process has proven successful time and time again, all the while I am able to maintain a social life and get sufficient
