Essential Elements of Instruction and How Information Technology Can be integrated into the Instructional Process and Curriculum
Education is essential to society and can make the world a better place. In an ideal world, education would be available to anyone at any time. Natural curiosity, thirst for knowledge, lifelong self-directed learners. Although there are number of different theories of learning that seemingly co-exist, there are still some elements to teaching and learning that can be considered essential. This essay will discuss three essential elements of instruction and how information technology can be integrated into instruction.
Planning for instruction is essential. If one fails to plan, then one is planning to fail. Using

The idea of educators collaborating with the planning of lessons has already been discussed. With respect to students, learning through collaboration is an essential part of students socially constructing knowledge, skills and understanding. Collaborating while learning promotes the idea of socially constructed understanding. Integrating information technology into this process has become easier as the personal computer has progressed from the laboratory into the home and classroom. The addition of extremely powerful mobile phones also assists the collaborative process. Although some teachers are wary of the concept of mobile phones in classrooms, these are devices that learners have an incredibly close bond with. A student with an internet connected device has access to more information than the President of the United States had 20 years ago. Collaborative activities and assessments that can engage students such that they need to investigate information beyond what they currently know can advance learning and understanding. Such new advances in technology make it incredibly easy for students to collaborate across the curriculum. The social construction of understanding can be assisted and amplified with communicative tools. In addition, learner to learner construction of understanding does not have to happen within the confines of one classroom, internet communications and
In this article, Ferriter (2009) reveals many benefits from the use of technology in the classroom with our 21st-century learners. The resources and suggestions mentioned throughout this reading will assist teachers in ways to avoid problems and becoming engaging instructors by using technology in innovative ways. What I found was so innovative by this approach was by creating a network of innovative co-learners where collaboration takes place regularly, Ferriter (2009), is able to experiment with digital connections without ever meeting other teachers in person. Not only is this beneficial for students and teachers all over the world, but also simple. What I found was unique and useful was the worldwide collaboration that helps teachers explore skills and dispositions that assisted with the network cooperation by creating shared content.
Teachers should put enough details in their lesson plans, and they need to ask themselves some question about the plan such as who are the students, what they want to do in the class, and how to teach them. Meanwhile, teachers should consider how to deal with unexpected situations. The author indicates that lesson plan does not have a
“Until we get equality in education, we won’t have an equal society.” (Justice Sonia Sotomayor) Public education in the United States is intended to provide quality education to all students, therefore, providing all children with the chance to pursue academic success and lifelong opportunities. However, the educational experiences and the quality of education that students in the United States receive are often far from equal. While many factors impact the educational experiences of students, there is one factor that warrants deep examination: socioeconomic status. The discussion of socioeconomic status and its relationship to education has been one that many have struggled to come to a consensus on.
One strategy that reinforces learning through collaboration is team teaching. In the classroom both teachers are positioned at the front of the classroom with different responsibilities. For example, one teacher may write notes, while the other delivers large group instruction. Through team teaching, both educators can bounce ideas off one another or show students two different methods of solving a problem. This strategy is most effective in a coteaching partnership emphasizing give and take.
Many Americans assume that technology in the classroom is purely a distracting device that can possibly socially disconnect students or encourage academic fraudulence on tests or assignments. While many others see it as a way to enhance education and make learning more fun and effective. We live in a digital world, technology surrounds us in every aspect of our lives. No matter how strongly some people may dislike the premise of the internet and texting in schools, these services are here to stay. Using these technologies in the classroom can prepare students for a future deeply rooted in technology.
The entitlement and provision for early years education is funded by the government via local authorities and is accessable for young children for up to two years, prior to going to school. The Every Child Matters and the Childcare Act 2006, are government agenda 's that decree that every child between the age of 3 and 4 is entitled to have free early years education for the two consecutive years, but is limited to 15 hours over a 38 week period in a year. The motive behind this initiative is ensuring that children from disadvantaged and under privileged backgrounds have equal opportunities to advantaged children, once they reach the schooling age, and parents are not expected to finacially contributed during their child 's early years education unless their child exceeds the
My short term goals are to get valedictorian honors, graduate high school, and further my education to college to pursue a degree in elementary education. My long term goals are to graduate college, come back to my reservation and help stress how important education is. Living on the reservation is a constant battle of wanting to give up because of the hardships you face daily, but also wanting to prove the stereotype wrong. You face many obstacles especially if you want to be successful from where I live. It always feels like no matter how good you do, what kind of great idea you come up with and want to pursue, there is always someone from a distance waiting for you to stumble or waiting to broadcast your flaws.

Hi Tiffany, There are so many innovative ways we can use technology to better our experiences as educators. We can use technology to support diversity among many methods in which can be used. I love observing my students exploring with technology with many learning subjects. This experience helps them to become better communicators and problem solvers. Thank you Tiffany I wish you the best of your endeavors.
Have you ever considered the amount of productivity, responsibility, blocking of confusion, and the amount of satisfied office workers cell phones can make happen in schools. Well, if you are a principal cell phones could make everyday life at your schools a lot easier. ¨Using smartphones for on-the-fly research during class is a start. ¨ But a good next step is having students gather pertinent information and then learn ways to analyze the validity of their sources.¨ (centerdigitaled)
Vygotsky mentioned that the “gap” between what learners can do easily and what learners can do with the help of a more knowledgeable other based on his concept of Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD). Thus, the most effective learning takes place when the task given to the learners is a level higher than the learners’ actual knowledge (i+1). Knowledge is best transferred when the teacher co-operates and discuss with the learners. The importance of scaffolding is its contribution to the teacher-learning relationship. It focuses on the role of teacher and learners which are distinct but complementary in the learning context (Gibbons, 2002).
I also agree to the fact that the teachers and students must collaborate to achieve an effective outcome. A question was raised about how a classroom might change or adapt when a computer is integrated into the curriculum and there were five stages about technology adaption in the classroom. Which are the Familiarization, Utilization, Integration, Reorientation, and Evolution.
Declared in The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN, 1948), education is recognized as a fundamental human right and a key component contributing to the development of societies. Yet there are many people on earth have not been able to get educated. In order to solve the problem, it is proposed that all education (including primary, secondary and higher education) should be free all over world and governments should be those funding the tuition fees. This paper critically hightlights the significances and also rebut the objection of free education. Before further analysis, the writer is going to point out some definitions and add facts and figures.
Education is a huge issue that not only affects kids and their parents, but their community as well. Schools teach young kids to become the next generation of engineers, technicians, and political leaders, working towards creating a better future for their country and their community. Teachers have the unique job of creating the future leaders of the world, and preparing them for both college and life beyond, by putting a special push towards math and science, the so-called “foundation” of our society. The hard truth is, no one can be anything they want to be. Some people are simply not cut out to be engineers, doctors, or psychologists.
After years of struggle between teachers and Students and the use of these smart phones in school, new educational trends are actually encouraging the use of these devices” This is another way of stating, smart phones are already a part of the school system and they aren’t going anywhere. With that being said, teachers should take advantage of this and just use them towards their own, and the Students
