It is no secret that there are large communication barriers between the United States and China. One of the main reasons for this is the idea called ethnocentrism. Ethnocentrism is the basis of judging another culture with standards of one's own culture, it is discussed on page 93 in our textbook. One example of this is the way that Americans feel against the Chinese government for censoring free speech and other human rights that we Americans believe in.
