A Tribute to my Super Hero Being the only princess of my wonderful father, no wonder he is my undefeatable super hero ever. It will be unfair if I don't give an equal share of tribute to my mom who completes him. While there have been many wonderful friends, mentors & icons inspiring me to where I am today, I would like to call out on one Super Supreme Hero in my life (other than my father) without whom I am just nothing at all. As your eyebrows raise with curiosity, with due love I would like to pay tribute to God ~ he is my creator, my love & my soul. My mother introduced lord Krishna to me as a friend and companion when I was a child. I don't celebrate anything in life with so much zeal like Janmashtami; the belief of his arrival was set in me; …show more content…
Routed to numerous orthopedics and physiotherapists who only aggravated my agony with their prescriptions and machines, I was fighting a battle alone. I used to tell myself, god probably gives the hardest struggles to his most loved ones.. With alternate medicine not proving to be positive on me, I was left with the option of a surgery on my disc which I would never get done even in my wildest dreams.. That's when one fine day I noticed a therapist nearby, I might have passed by his clinic numerous times but somehow it was hidden till then in my destiny.. The messiah of god, as I believe was there to rescue me out of this illness and now I am back to working and active after few months of treatment. Yes, I have lost a lot in my career and learnt people; but the bitter experiences have given me strength for a better tomorrow. Some people ask me why I still trust god despite undergoing such turmoil in life. Some criticize me quoting my devotion and practices are not sufficient to grant me wellness in life.. But all I want to say to all is this is a life is a gift of my creator ~ the paramathma.. He has every right to do anything with my
An Analysis of Francis Cassavant and Larry Lasalle’s Heroism and Anti- heroism By JN Tan When push comes to shove, a hero will rise from the crowd, and prove why he or she is deserving of the title. Heroes is a Young adult novel written by Robert Cormier. Set in the 1940s during the Second World War, it follows Francis as he seeks retribution for the events that happened in his dark past. The novel takes on the concept of heroism and anti- heroism, and also explores the grey area that lies between them. Both Larry and Francis are anti- heroes-
In this article, “Why We Love TV’s Anti-heroes,” the author Stephen Garrett argues that in today’s society our whole perspective of heroes has changed since the mid-twentieth century. Garrett is appealing to all American’s who love watching their favorite TV heroes and heroines. In addition, Garrett’s main focus is the fact today’s heroes entirely different from what the idea of a “hero” was two or three decades ago. The author relies on generally accepted ideas from the American public to base his main idea; he uses sources from popular TV shows and movies which have anti-heroes that draw the attention of their audience.
My personal Michigan hero is my seventh grade social studies teacher, Ms. Dokter. Though I am not a personal friend of hers, per say, she had a tremendous impact on my life. She made me laugh, told me that I could do whatever I put my mind to, and was an amazing educator. Seventh grade was tough for me at times. I was at a new school, and it seemed like everyone knew what they were doing except me.
My Michigan Hero “You never know until you try” that 's what my brothers always tell me when they think I should try something new. My oldest brother Jacques is 23 years old and just graduated from Michigan State University and is now attending grad school, my second oldest brother Jaquil is 21 years old and is a Senior at Western Michigan and finally my third oldest brother Jessiah is 16 years old and is a junior in high school at Jackson High School. The reason my brothers inspire me is because they teach me new things that they learned. One way my brothers inspire me is they always motivate me to get better and are always confident in me. Ways they motivate me to get better is because they always tell me I can do better or they say they can do better than that.
In the meant time I will keep asking and healing and asking. “"Father, if you are willing, please take this cup of suffering away from me. Yet I want your will to be done, not mine.". Luke 22:42 NLT.
Would the statement, all heroes and heroines are originated from the same basis be true? Most likely, ones favorite hero novel would follow the hero’s journey which is the cycle of the hero’s adventure involving different archetypes. A hero novel does not necessarily have to involve supernatural powers and the hero does not necessarily have to save the world; a hero can go through the hero’s journey to save one person or to reveal a hidden truth. If a story follows the hero’s journey, it includes the three categories of the archetypes—character, place, event. Midwinterblood written by Marcus Sedgwick is one example of a novel that fits into the hero’s journey archetype.
Life is full of doors, some are open and some are closed. There comes a time when sealed doors need to be broken open so everyone can reach their maximum potential and goals in life, just like Sherman Alexie did in “Superman and Me.” An example of Sherman Alexie breaking down doors is one of his quotes from “Superman and Me,” “this might be an interesting story all by itself. A little Indian boy teaches himself to read at an early age and advances quickly. He reads Grapes of Wrath in kindergarten when other children are struggling through Dick and Jane.
A hero can be anyone around you. A hero is a person who is strong, has courage, helps others, and does good deeds. Ponyboy deserves to be considered a hero. Johnny also deserves to be considered a hero too. Dally does not deserve to be considered a hero though, unlike Ponyboy and Johnny.
Every hero archetype has to experience the journey. James Campbell, a scholar who studied mythology across the world defines archetypes as people such as a mother figure, a father figure, a hero, a maiden,or a trickster. A hero is a person who has curiosity, humility, and is courageous. In addition, a hero goes out of their way to reach their goal, even if that means putting their life on the line for others or for a set accomplishment. Furthermore, the hero archetype must experience the three stages of the Hero’s Journey which includes The Departure, The Initiation, and The Return.
“The Untitled Superhero Poem” by Tonya Maria Matthews is a great example of stream of consciousness, displays great use of enjambment, and is an ideal representation of witness poetry. One of the first things that a reader will notice is that there is no punctuation in the poem until the very last line. The absence of punctuation, also known as enjambment, causes the reader to continuously read the poem without stopping. By using this device, Tonya Maria Matthews is forcing the reader to take in everything that is said in the poem at once. This device also gives high energy to “The Untitled Superhero Poem.”
“I refused to fail. I was smart. I was arrogant. I was lucky. I read books late into the night, until I could barely keep my eyes open” (Alexie 17).
Debi Mazar is an actress who stated, “A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tried to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really, deeply cares.” Heroes are relevant to everyone, because at some point, everyone has had a hero. Sadly, today’s society degrades the meaning of the word “hero”. Heroes are an important aspect of life, but famous people are not always heroes.
“If you can tell me who your heroes are, I can tell you how you are going to turn out. It is really important to have the right heroes.” – Warren Buffet. Many people are looking for heroes in wrong places, and misunderstanding the term hero itself. Strength, bravery, courage, and honesty are the things most people think when the name hero pops.
A bite and a costume can change someone’s life extremely quick. Spiderman as a reference, was bitten by a spider that granted him with special abilities. Only he must keep it as secret from society. The best superheroes have awesome costumes which help them maintain two separate identities. They also have an amazing skill component of supernatural abilities which enhance their civilian identities.
“Since it is so likely that children will meet cruel enemies, let them at least have heard of brave knights and heroic courage. Otherwise, you are making their destiny not brighter but darker.” — C.S. Lewis. A popular debate that has been raging since the first comic was published is, are superheroes good role models? Superheroes are good role models for many reasons.
