Evelyn is the only child of Alexandra and Donald McLean, she was born in Beamsville, Ontario on the 13th of October in 1920. A year after her birth her family moved to Hamilton, Ontario where she later attended a private Catholic school for girls. Throughout Evelyn 's life her parents never saw eye-to-eye. Alexandra had a wicked temper, and Donald was an abusive alcoholic who constantly stole money from the Hamilton Street Railway revenues. Growing up, Evelyn didn 't have very many friends and was quite lonely. In her teenage years, her mother encouraged her to seduce wealthy, older men using her good looks and charm. Vvv

On 14th March 1917, the Harradine brothers enlisted in the Canadian Army at the regimental depot of Lord Strathcona’s Horse, known as, The Royal Canadians. There appears to have been a delay before Leslie Harradine’s attestation29 to serve in the CEF for the duration of the war, 6th April 1917. He named as his next of kin, his father, Charles Percy Harradine of 12 Wandle Road Wandsworth, London. On 29th April 1917, along with the Seventh Draft of the Strathcona’s Leslie Harradine left Canada aboard the SS Olympia, disembarking in England, 7th May 1917. He was stationed at the Canadian Reserve Cavalry Regiment (CRCR) at Shorncliffe near Folkestone, Kent.
Ms. Velma Annette James was born December 28, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to William Hall and Sylvia James. Ms. James mother and father preceded her in death. She was the eldest of three brothers, Joseph James, Ralph Wright and Bradford James. Annie Jean Easley was born April 23, 1933 to Mary Melvina Hoover and Samuel Bird Easley, in Birmingham Alabama. She was raised, along with her older brother, by a single mom. Annie attended schools in Birmingham and graduated high school valedictorian of her class. Throughout high school Annie wanted to be a nurse because she thought that the only careers that were open to African American women at the time were nursing and teaching and she definitely did not want to teach so she settled on being a nurse but as she studied in high school she began thinking about becoming a pharmacist.
