1. Functional Area Description:
My first rotation was working as an event-planning assistant. In an event planning company, Event Operations is the department whose responsibility is to use business management and organizational skills to envision, plan and execute social and business events. The process includes budgeting, scheduling, catering, site selection, arranging bands, speakers and hosts, arranging decoration, coordinating with third party vendors, and managing transportation and parking. He graduated from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 2012 and he used to major in Finance. As he mentioned, during his college years, he has been a volunteer at a few non-profit organizations in the state and a catering company in Shenzhen, China. After graduation, he ran an E – commerce business mainly focusing on selling Japanese and Korean cosmetics. He has profound experience in retail services and marketplace services. Also, his international background allows him to work really flexibly because he is able to communicate in Cantonese, English, Korean and Mandarin fluently. In terms of his management style, he is a directive leader. He develops high standard, and provides guidance to avoid uncertainty in workplace. His management philosophy is “ Divide work of our business for maximum efficiency”. I really appreciate his working and management style since he helps us to work more efficiently and effectively by providing clear tasks goals and requirements and specific information of procedures. In my observation, he is a good supervisor since he respects all team members and values our work. He pays fully attention to listen to members or clients’ concerns then solves problems with strong and effective communication

Everybody has an event in their own work life that has been hell, but it makes them a stronger employee. Personally I have had to plan out multiple events while working for the Atlanta Braves, therefore I see that I could fit the requirements for the position of being a marketing manager for the Atlanta Falcons. There is however, one specific event that stands out. Two years ago, the Atlanta Braves were looking to hold a special event closer to the end of the season. The dedication, awareness, and hard work I had for this event is what makes me think I could be the best candidate for this job.

When being a supervisor, you have a lot of responsibilities that you need to take on every day with the people who work for you. It is important that the supervisor always oversees the jobs/activities that are being performed and making decisions on what to do. Organizing the events Such a big company that has big reputation and names, Columbia Hospital needs to continue to maintain the people’s affections to use their service. They have held several events to attract the public in discovering about their services, what actually the service that Columbia Hospital really offers..
