Have you ever thought about when a person should be considered an adult? At 18? At 21? Should you be able to fight in a war before you can rent a car? Is it cruel to sentence a teenager to life without parole? Why are our laws and rules on this issue so inconsistent, and how do they affect us? Lots of people have different opinions about it. People usually say that someone is an adult from the range 14-24. Someone should be considered an adult at the age of 21. Someone should be considered an adult at the age of 21. According to the text “when should someone be considered an adult” it says “the legal age for joining the military or voting is 18 but those under the age of 21 are not considered mature. This quote shows that usually people are not considered mature until 21. Another example from the text is “due to their age workers under 20 years old do not have to be paid minimum wage during their first 90 days of work”. Referring to this quote it shows another reason that someone is considered an adult at the age of 21. This show that someone is not considered an adult until 21. The age 18 and 21 are kind of different and similar and different. Some may argue that people should be younger or older than 21 to be considered an adult. In the text the author stated” the legal age for voting or joining the military is 18 but those under the age of 21 are not considered mature”. Adults should be at least 21 because that’s when they get the most freedom to do things. What that argument fails to consider is that at 18 you don’t get the full freedom to do what you want but at 21 you get the full freedom to do legal things. If you are considered an adult at the age of 18 then you should be able to get the full legal freedom that someone who is 21 years old
