Maville and Huerta (2013) state that Fawcett’s metaparadigm is often used to define and delineate the scope of nursing. Masters stated the purpose of one’s personal philosophy is to define how he or she finds truth. As a result each individual philosophy purported will be unique. This paper will seek to define, describe and explain my thoughts, feelings and belief regarding the four concepts of nursing metaparadigm and their interrelationship as well as their influence on my current nursing practice. Masters (2017) states that our philosophy is derived from a process of lifelong learning which allows us to find the truth.
The guidelines set by the NP’s Core competencies involves educational programs for nurse practitioner and are referred to as essentials behaviors for all NPs (The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner, ([NONPF],2017). As a future NP, this course has echoed the importance to critically examine information given by finding evidence to support and manage care for the individual or the population, which I will apply to my practice. This, in turn, will offer better treatment plan and optimize better patient outcome. Using the differential diagnosis to pinpoint the best possible diagnosis for individuals has helped me to use critical thinking about my patient and to find the appropriate plan of care.
I have helped my mother, who is a CNA, with my uncle who has MS. When I was helping her was when I noticed that becoming a nursing assistant will be my long-term job. I have learned so much from my mother and other CNA’s. I want to continue my education, so I can help the people in need. This paper will explore the job description, requirements, and salary expectation, including the path for a nursing assistant.
For example both associations expect members to participate in life long learning so consequently members are required to earn continuing education hours. In addition, both associations expect members to represent themselves honorably especially in reporting honestly the services received by patients. The APTA code of

I will be able to not only help patients recover but help students who are trying to reach the same goal that I am working towards. If I can accomplish my goal, I will live a happy life because I am able to help others and do what I want. To become a person that people admire, I will have to work hard mentally, physically, and emotionally. To get into physical therapy school, I will have to work extremely hard every semester and make the best possible grades I can. I have already begun this process by studying and making good grades, and by spending my limited free time interning with physical therapists.
By advancing on into Graduate school, I can focus on strengthening the areas that needs more work such as enhancing my assessment skills. I am cognizant on the pertinence of assessments and how it establishes the needs and external and internal resources that may impact a client. Properly conducting an assessment is an important aspect of Social Work practice and is typically the first step in developing a strong clinician and client relationship. The findings from assessments are taken into consideration when developing plans of action, and goal setting. I will also continue to work on my advocacy and leadership intervention skills.
My placements consisted of hematology, clinical neuroscience, acute mental health, complex care and a medicine unit. In looking back over my assessments for these placements I have been able to put together a list of my strengths and areas for growth and from this list I have created my learning plan for my first year of practice. Strengths. Serving the underprivileged and underinsured has also always been a particular passion of mine. I feel that the mission, values and visions of the institute that one receives their education from should align closely with their personal beliefs as these are the values that will be taught and form ones character over the duration of the program. Georgetown University’s School of Nursing focuses not only on the individual but also the community as well as being a catalyst for health and social justice as mentioned in the Mission Statement and Vision directly correlate with my personal values and visions. The part that resonates with me the most is the Value of the Common Good which states that there is special emphasis placed on serving the marginalized and underserved. That value is key for me as the want to help the underserved was the primary reason I entered into healthcare.
That is what helped in the past and I plan to continue doing it throughout the RN school. Obtaining my RN is an investment both intellectually as well as financially. Once I complete the course, I hope to have a broader knowledge in the field of nursing which I can use in the
When I was 9 years old, I found out that I was not like everyone else. I was in Shop N’ Save with my dad and my sister and we ended up walking past a blood pressure machine. My sister and I wanted to play with it, and usually my dad wouldn’t let us, but that day he ended up saying yes. We went back to the machine. My sister went first and then it was my turn.
Dreams That Can Be Accomplished African American history is filled with a plethora of contributions in the music, acting, and sport industries, but some young adults fail to recognize the African American contributions to the science field. For decades, minority women have been the most underrepresented individuals in science, engineering, and medicine. Being one of less than 100 African American women physicists in the United States, Dr. Hadiyah-Nicole Green has been an inspiration to me to pursue a degree in Chemistry. She once said, “It’s important to know that our brains are capable of more.” It is important for African American women to further their skills and know that they are a valuable part of the workplace and that their contributions to STEM is essential.
“To this day I still remember my first encounter with multiple sclerosis. My family and I were at our lake house in Houghton Michigan. It was the morning of July third 2007; I had woken up in the bathroom, dazed and confused. Apparently I began vomiting in my sleep. My grandmother was the first to discover me in this state, and as a result, dragged me to the bathroom.
