A Mother’s Instinct
My daughter has always been a bit of a train wreck. George, my husband, and I (DailyMail Reporter) were supportive and accepting even when Casey came home to tell us she was pregnant at the age of nineteen (CNN Library). I overheard her telling her close friend on the phone that she was going to give the baby away for adoption (Fanning 86), but I refused to let her. This baby was going to be my second chance at raising my child. All I wanted was a grandbaby to spoil and help to make better decisions than Casey had.
We never learned the identity of the father (CNN staff), but George and I always speculated she didn’t know either. Casey gave birth to a healthy baby girl August 9, 2005 and named her Caylee Marie Anthony (CNN

At this point George decided Casey needed a strong lawyer and hired Jose Baez as her defense attorney (State vs. Casey). Caylee had been missing for six months and there was no doubt in my mind it was Casey’s fault. Even though I assumed our granddaughter was no longer alive, the news of Caylee’s body being located hit me like a ton of bricks. Behind Casey’s trailer police had located a black trash bag buried in a shallow grave with a child's body (Diane Fanning). There was duct tape on the skull and the detectives told us she was most likely suffocated (Fanning 315). December 19, 2008 authorities announced the body was Caylee’s (CNN). We were miserable. Casey could barely grieve, crying with her hand held on the plexiglass plate between us in the jail’s visiting center. How could you believe your own daughter would do such a thing when she’s crying right in front of you? But why would she wait so long to report her missing (Fanning 315) if she didn’t have anything to …show more content…
June 2010, prosecutors announced they would be seeking the death penalty (Fanning 233) after learning Casey had researched how to make chloroform and strangulation before Caylee's estimated time of death (ABC News) . Any direction I turned, all we heard was Casey Anthony. Her name had become a dirty word. “Murderer” and “psychopath” were always close to follow her name in a conversation or on the news. The lawyers told us they had to go four counties over to find an unbiased jury due to the mass publicity (Crime Museum) and even then everyone had heard of Casey and the undeniable evidence that she did it.
I cried while I picked out a professional outfit for Casey to wear to her trial. Everything I saw reminded me of Caylee. A peach collared blouse and black dress pants were some of the few non provocative clothing Casey owned. Jose Baez wanted her to look like a humble mother that had just lost a
No evidence of Caylee or the nanny. Casey reports to police that she used other means of sources to find Caylee. 31 days later she was reported missing. Casey Anthony did all of this to her daughter, the lies she used to distract investigators, it is all in the facts. Casey Anthony lived a young and restless life.
Small town girl Casey Anthony became infamous after the suspicious disappearance of her daughter, Caylee Anthony. As her case unfolded, she had many lies and criminal charges, stacked against her. This unfair trial led the majority of americans to believe she was unquestionably guilty. Casey’s troubles began early on.
The murderer used chloroform and duct tape to suffocate the 2 year old toddler. And disposed the body in a black trash bag and placed in a forest wooded area. Found within walking distance from the Anthony residence. This can resonate to a conspiracy theory. With all of the facts and research the researchers came up with it is clear that the justice system has failed Caylee Anthony.
Casey Anthony age thirty-one is found not guilty for killing her two year old daughter. Casey Anthony should have been found guilty because of these three reasons: Anthony’s mother Cindy was the one to call the cops when Caylee went missing instead of Casey, the cops found chloroform on Caylee’s body and in her trunk, and it is known that Casey didn’t want her daughter to begin with. There is enough substantial evidence to prove that Casey Anthony is guilty for the murder of her daughter. Caylee Anthony was born on August 9, 2005 and reported missing on July 15, 2008. Casey told several falsehoods to detectives including that Caylee had been kidnapped by a nanny on June 9th, and that she had been too frightened to alert the authorities.
Evidence showed Casey researched the use of chloroform prior to Caylee’s death, and the judge presumes "... She may have utilized [chloroform] to keep the baby quiet ... and just used too much of it, and the baby died” (Bowerman). No one will ever know the real circumstances regarding Caylee’s early demise, but the case made national coverage and motivated activists to propose new
The Case The disappearance of Caylee Anthony had developed into a case full of lies and unanswered questions when her mother, Casey Anthony, gave fabricated information to law enforcement authorities. Caylee Anthony was only two-years-old when she disappeared without a trace after spending a weekend at her grandparent’s home. She was last seen with their daughter Casey, and after a month of being unable to see their granddaughter, Casey’s mother Cindy, had reported to the emergency operator that Caylee was missing. The incident immediately became a priority as law enforcement authorities had set up search and rescue teams to locate the child.
During the interview Anthony stated “I’m still not even certain as I stand her today about what happened.” Anthony told the interviewer that the last she knew her daughter was with her father and after that she does not remember much of anything. What she does remember is waking up in the morning to her mother telling her goodbye and Caylee was in bed with her. Then hours later waking up and Caylee being gone and not knowing where she was. Anthony did state “The last time I saw my daughter I believed she was alive and was going to be OK, and that’s what was told to me” Although most opinions of Anthony are based solely off
On July 5th, 2011 Casey Anthony was found not guilty for murdering her two year old daughter Caylee Anthony in Orlando Florida. Caylee was found in a trash bag, with duct tape wrapped around her head to cut off air supply. There are many key pieces of evidence in the case that points toward Casey being guilty of the crime. I truly believe Casey killed Caylee, here are a few reasons why.
On the Google search history these searches were found “neck breaking" and "how to make chloroform" supporting the reason why chloroform was found in the back of Casey’s car. Those to searches give evidence as to how Casey killed her daughter. The way not mattering as much as why was that searched on her Google browser in the first place? Well Casey searching those terms on Google shows that she had been planning to kill. A strand of hair was recovered from the trunk of Casey's car which was similar to the hair taken from Caylee Anthony's hairbrush.
Her actions are similar to her feeling free again and not being caged in with her child. By her feeling free she displays no type of emotion or actions of a grieving mother or a lost child. Is Casey Anthony still an innocent mother who did not know her daughter was
Americans became fascinated by Casey Anthony when she became a household name following the disappearance of her daughter. After being raised in Ohio, Anthony was later charged with the murder of her daughter Caylee following their move to Florida. Anthony’s trial quickly became public, and shocked the nation after she was acquitted of all murder charges. The majority of America assumed Anthony was guilty, but without substantial evidence, the jury lacked the confirmation they needed to lock her up for good. The question remains today, how did Caylee Anthony die?
The verdict in this case generated an epidemic of outrage throughout the world. I agree with the not-guilty verdict on the murder one and two charges; however, the evidence is not as incontrovertible as some have suggested. I also agree that there was some mischaracterization around the 31 days; yet, to trivialize this behavior as simply immature is inaccurate. The way Casey handled the death was inexcusable.
Killing your husband is no big deal, right? Not for Mary Maloney. A casual day is not typically when your house is turned into a murder scene. Sometimes you can’t blame people for their impulse actions; for example, Mary Maloney. Should Mary Maloney face punishment for her wrong doing?
On May 25, 2010 Casey Anthony 's lawyer states to the court and jury that Caylee was unintentionally drowned in the swimming pool of their home , and that Casey and her father had cover it up. The prosecution presented that Casey Anthony did research on chloroform at her home computer but her mother Cindy Anthony 's asserted that it was her that made the searches that implicated her daughter but the records showed that Cindy Anthony was at work when these searches were done. On July 5, the jury found Casey not guilty of first degree murder but she was found guilty on four misdemeanors because she provided false material to a law enforcement officers.
