Unit 5 Discussion: Integration While the concepts in Word, were already familiar to me. I do feel I build upon my knowledge in Word. I learned more about using features like WordArt and the Shapes features. I learned how to make my documents in Word look more professional with the skills that I have learned. Where I feel that I have learned the most and grown the most was the time that I spend in Excel.
I struggle at time management, procrastination, reading, and asking others for help. I feel like I do well with proofreading and making sure that I use the correct grammar, along with note taking. I have learned more this semester about writing than my two previous compositions classes. Everything seems to be broken down more, and this has helped me retain the information. My current class seems to be more fun, laid back, and the writing assignments are explained in detail, and I think this has eased some of my fears when it comes to writing.
[In the summer and fall 2016, I was able to excel in my classes again because I was enjoyed the classes that I took, in addition to the help that I received. During fall quarter of 2016, I began my first computer science class, and was thoroughly interested in the subject. Although it was disappointing to repeat my English course, my second English course had provided me a new perspective to achieve better grade than previously. Despite the fact that I had to repeat my second computer class in Spring 2017, I was quicker to learn, manage my time, and present all of my course work clearly to excel in the
One, I will be in a position that enables me to leverage the broad (and on some topics deep) knowledge I possess of things that have happened to develop solutions to new problems. That is, taking the ideas from past events to use them in unique ways for current events. Two, the accounting profession is a constantly changing one and being eager to learn new things will be beneficial. And, three, I am always interested in the continuous improvement of both myself and of processes.
Overall COM 210 has taught me a valuable number of things and I have retained valuable information I will need in the future. I enjoyed exploring internal business proposals and writing for your intended audience. I can say the most challenging part for me was the group project and I am glad I received a chance to work on that, to me it wasn’t the fact of the group project but the extensive work involved. I will take what I learned from that experience and apply it to others. While I was looking over my writing from the start of the semester up until now I can say I improved a great deal and still have some improvement
Over the course of the semester, my ideas in the contexts of both writing and speaking have improved. Throughout CM212, the class worked on a variety of activities in order to improve our listening, speaking, and writing abilities, in order to refine both strengths and weaknesses. I personally, have seen improvements, I have learned how to express ideas, connect with an audience, and overall develop as a communicator. True growth has occurred over the semester in CM212, thus enhancing my communication skills.
Next, I collaborated with two of my peers in order to peer edit each other's essays and then made these changes to my essay. Finally, I added in the additional quotes from my annotated bibliography sources. I have gotten better at this kind of work because I have learned how to expand my vocabulary and use formal language with less dead verbs. I have improved greatly upon this, but I have room to improve even more.
Over the course of this semester, I have learned a lot of different things about writing in English 101. My writing techniques and methods have improved drastically compared to what they used to be, especially my drafting. But other things like my grammar were at a decent level. I have become so much more efficient at writing than I have ever been in the past. With my current drafting process, I write my entire essay, read what I have written and add a little bit more if something comes to mind.
As an English student this semester, I have learned how to develop essays in an appropriate educated way in English 101. I have learned how to find and properly use different sources in my essays as well as improving on MLA format. This class has also improved my writing skills in my work place. I presently work as a secretary for a company, and my job consists of writing letters to people from time to time. The skills that I have learned has dramatically improved those letters, allowing them to appear more professional.
Strategic marketing is a broad and practical subject which included the concept of marketing subjects of previous semesters such as business marketing. The study of this subject has contributed to marketing knowledge in many ways, as well as it has strengthened my skills in application of marketing concepts. My knowledge was increased that I was able to develop a complete strategic marketing plan of not only on the part of marketing analysis or strategy of a product or service, but also the whole corporate plan. My skills and capabilities that were developed and integrated during lectures and tutorials include the analytical skills, coordination skills, presentation skills, organization skills, etc.
DSHA has impacted me in numerous aspects, the most significant change being the way I appreciate learning. In other words, DSHA has allowed me to gain academic knowledge as well as prepare me with the qualities and skills vital to succeed in the real, adult world. First and foremost, DSHA has allowed me to grow intellectually. Through taking specific courses, especially the science courses, I have discovered genuine interests that I initially never expected to have. Similarly, I came to appreciate learning and the need of it in order to further myself and pursue my passions.
For example, “new research has made it increasingly clear that companies with more diverse workforces perform better financially.” (Hunt, Layton, & Prince, 2015) “Immigrants have also developed new products, such as the Java computer language, that have created employment opportunities for millions of Americans.” (Griswold, 2002) Diversity also contributes to education. Diversity in classrooms allow students to explore different cultures, languages and religions first hand; not just provided from a text book.
Over the semester both my technical and non-technical writing skills have vastly improved. I can now compose technical documents faster than I could at the beginning of the semester, while also improving the content. The technical writing skills were a big help when
Despite the fact that I have had other written work classes, this course has expanded my trust in composing essentially. The perusing material were all around chose for this course. I feel that I have a superior comprehension of the fundamental components of composing. This has permitted me to build up a more grounded learning yearning in composing. I trust I now have improved as a composition researcher in view of my elaboration of my vocabulary and from what everything my teacher have taught me this semester.
