He gets out the car and quickly approaches the flipped vehicle. “Petro, when something like this happens you’re suppose to get out the car and help”, those were the first words Kenneth Joyner said right after the car in front of us dramatically flipped over. Joyner did not think twice about helping those in need-during the scene he stated -“ I saw two people in the car, my first instinct was I gotta get them out”.
As we approached, anxiety started taking over me. I thought to myself: "Please God, I do not want to see dead bodies”. Joyner on the other hand was calm and collected, and from his demeanor one could tell his goal was to get those two men out no matter the cost.
A track of gasoline now began to leak, Joyner hoped this would not affect his chances of rescuing the men. As I started to look around my surroundings more people began to crowd

Hold the door please so I can get them out!” Joyner yelled.
After minutes of yelling for help, a random man held the car door for Joyner. One by one, they finally got them out of the flipped vehicle . Joyner was finally able to be at peace with himself for having saved the lives of the men. The Police and firefighters shortly come after.
That night made me realize how much Kenneth Joyner, a close friend of mine, cares about helping others; without even knowing their first name. Not only does he try to help those in need, he tries to support others around him by trying to make others smile or by giving advice to whomever needs it. This was not the first time Joyner did a good deed for others, he always puts others before himself. Joyner personally makes me think twice about how I should treat others. People should not do things with the preconceived notion that they will receive something in return. I am glad to have someone like him in my life because he teaches me how to care for others and I’ve grown as a person. Kenneth Russell Joyner III is a true definition of a real life

At approx 1:15 pm ON 8-29-16, I was sitting at my desk in my office with the door closed. I heard the raised voice of someone I didn 't recognize yelling repeatedly, "get your hands off me" and similar variations of the demand. I did not hear any other voices. I then opened the door and left my office to find Ofc Jaques searching a male black subject who was now found to be the source of the yelling. Ofc Jaques could be heard sternly but calmly giving orders for the subject to comply with his orders in order to be searched prior to being held in the nearby cell.
Within multiple occasions, the writer adds the emotional effect to grab the reader’s attention and to make one aware of the sacrifice the first responders contributed. Now that the writer has caused the audience to feel emotional or uneasy of the matter, the writer then states, “I showed him a photo of my brother, FDNY Capt. Billy Burke, Engine Co. 21, who perished in the North Tower after refusing to leave
In the article, it states, “Steadily they went on with the work. Although every minute lost might mean another life lost, the men on the beach did not panic” (Heatter 2). This shows how the soldiers did not panic and were patient to wait for the little boats. This made them successful in reaching the boats. In the story, it points out, “With a last quick rush, the men turned and ran for the water” (Heatter 3).
Taking different English and writing classes has allowed me to write different types of papers. One paper that can be very challenging is the personal narrative. There are certain requirements that you must follow; each paper is different depending on who assigns it. When I am assigned to write this type of paper, usually it is dreadful to start and accomplish. This type of paper should just be removed from college writing courses.
The man in the water became a hero that day by sacrificing his own life to save several others. Although the man didn’t know if he himself would survive or not, he put on a brave, calm face. By staying calm, he manages to keep those around him calm, and safe. This mans act of selflessness is so inspiring because, many in the same situation go into survival of the fittest mode. With each floatation device the man in the water passed on, he decreased his own chances for survival.
Lauder helped raise Carnegie in his time of need when his parents were unable to afford necessities such as food or clothing. He knew that helping Carnegie through the uncontrollable poverty in his life was simply the right action to take. He could not stand idly by and watch his own blood starve. However, Lauder was much deeper than caring only about his family and those close to him; he also knew the importance of helping all those who you are feasibly able to. He also showed the young boy that there is more than one way to contribute.
A heroes journey To be a hero. No more does it take a brave knight draped in armor raving his sword at a fire breathing dragons to be a hero. To be a hero can be as simple as changing up from something you've been use to struggle a little bit but then rock it afterwards. Hero’s live amounts us everywhere. Here I will take you through one of my favorite hero journey stories.
Routine A disturbance in a Tuesday morning routine was a change of a lifetime: my brief car-ride nap was interrupted by a crash, then, the jarring of the ambulance. It was an unexpected awakening. Sixth grade social studies and spelling tests had to be put aside, as the rest of my day would be filled with the beeps of machines and chatter of scrub-clad trauma nurses. Suddenly, my mind was back in my body - and my first conscious words were my complaints of the uncomfortable neck brace, followed by my request to remove it.

Tom Godwin’s short story “The Cold Equations” illustrates how one should think of and become accepting of their consequences whether it's deserved or not. The story is about an Emergency Dispatch Ship, also known as an EDS, with the pilot on a mission to give a group of six men who have a fatal fever. The pilot, Barton, during his mission finds a stowaway named Marilyn found in a small closet on the ship. Marilyn was a young girl trying to go to Mimir, for she had a destination waiting and hoped to see her brother who she hasn't seen in 10 years, but little did she know that there was a previously set protocol that determines the life of a stowaway. Barton had sympathy for the girl and did his best to help her by contacting headquarters and asked if there was any way he could spare Marilyn’s life
Why did they rejoice when an ‘enemy’ was met with it? Why were they wanting it for themselves? Even my own mother would rather him die than have her son save a life; I simply couldn’t comprehend it. As soon I managed to wriggle my arm free from her grasp I was off again bolting towards the site of the crash. I wasn’t thinking of how I was to save him, I just knew I had to try my absolute best.
