Neerja Sonawane Academic Goals Essay During my school days, I went to a scouts and guides camp where they took us for a visit to a school for the disabled, named “Aasha” (Hope). I was left bewildered on seeing the innocent souls who didn 't have sight but had a vision. I saw sore eyes full of dreams. This gave me sleepless nights. The strong urge to make a difference in their life drew me towards science and technology for the mystical abilities it gave us. Since childhood, I was fascinated by the human eye. Understanding how the human brain interprets the optical signals would serve as a major breakthrough in "eye-brain-computer interfacing". With this in mind, my greatest desire is to receive not only an outstanding technical education but also grow as a conscientious and socially responsible individual. Most people I know have college education ranging through many generations of their family, but unfortunately my family doesn't have that luxury. I come from immigrant parents who made me realize that success is earned, not given and in order to achieve success one must aspire to work hars . Since moving to the United States eighteen years ago, my parents have taught me necessities needed to succeed in America. From living with the satisfaction that I will receive a college education to providing me with the tools neccesecary in life my parents have always been there for me. In my early childhood, my parents taught me how important a strong work ethic was and made me understand the importance of education and the prospect it provides.
I know that I have the potential and the intelligence to go after what I want in life, but of course all of that requires hard work and dedication. I am taking steps in my life now to better my future. I do believe education is key to almost anything and it will always be beneficial towards the future even when sometimes I don't see progress right away. I have many goals that I have yet to accomplish. I want to make a difference in the world, even if it’s a small group of people, I want to do something and be productive.

For the past year I’ve been conducting research about the reason why students don’t attend a community college. Other than financial reasons, why else? Due to my huge hesitation in attending community college I wanted to investigate on why wasn’t that a popular option in my culture in High School. In may 2014, I received the student ambassador job position that I was not expecting, which had a huge impact on my research. I was so curious as to how the process of orientation runs that impacts the students decisions.
Twelve years of Medical School paid off. I have mastered my craft and soon enough started a family, built a house, and traveled around the world. With the help of mastering one thing I am able to succeed in other areas. This exert disproves Ralph Waldo Emerson 's assertion claiming that never going beyond something you master will lead to "you...never grow[ing]". I disagree with Emerson because throughout my life sticking with a couple particular crafts has made me the strong, independent, and honest individual I am today.
My Goals and Life Missions Goals and achievements are concepts that push individuals to think more about what they want to do with their lives and the various possibilities the future could hold for them. Many of these individuals began thinking about these concepts in high school, including me. Thinking about all the choices I could major in, I chose nursing because of my desire to help others. Becoming a nurse is going to be a rewarding job choice that will come with many obstacles, but I will know when I have achieved my goals. Helping people has always came easily to me, whether it was calming down an upset child or taking care of my sick family members.
This woman wrote 14 books and manage to graduate from college (Feeney). This may inspire kids with disabilities to keep moving forward in life and create something great for their selves. Let alone not just her knowledge she had felt the need to help others like herself who are locked up in asylums. Since people had stop teaching the disabled back in 1985 (Berube). Helen had traveled to 34 countries and around the world about 9 times to find kids a free them from asylums (Feeney).
