In order to understand something you need to put yourself in someone elses shoes. If you are having trouble with something look at it from someones elses perspective. When you put yourself in someone eleses perspective you will learn to understand how the world works. You will also understand how people think and feel about specific things. If you don't see other people's perspectives you won't be able to see why they think that thing. When Atticus put himself into toms shoes he realized that he was innocent and he was able to find a lot of evidence to prove that tom was innocent. Some of the proof Atticus found what that his left arm is paralized and the person who attacked the woman attacked with his left arm. Atticus also was able to …show more content…
One of those people she put herself into was Boo. People thought that boo was a scary person who wan’ts to hurt people. But that can’t be more wrong. Boo saved Scout and Jem from the drunk guy who was trying to get revenge on Addicus for the trial about Tom. Scout put herself into Boos shoes and she was able to see that he was a caring person and not someone thats wants to hurt him. One time I was able to put myself in other peoples shoes was when I was hearing about a fight between 2 siblings. I was suppost to be the person who says who is in the right and who is in the wrong. When I heard both sides of the story I decided to come up with a compromise. When I told them the compromise they both agreed that is was fair and they everyone was happy. When that experience was over I realized that before I argue or automatically think someone is wrong I need to look from the other sides perspective to see who is right or see what a good compromise is for both of us. In order to understand someone you need to put yourself in their shoes. If you are in a fight, argument ect, you need to try to see the other persons perspective. After you do that you will understand how people work and think. One day you might just start to do it attimaticaly and you life will be so much better. If you don't see other people's perspectives you won't be able to see why they think what they
One reason Atticus should be found guilty is “Atticus put his hand on Tom’s shoulder and whispered. Atticus took his coat off the back of his chair and pulled it over his shoulder. Then he left but not by his usual exit” (Lee 282/283). This evidence shows that Atticus gave up and didn’t give Tom any hope after he walked out. Another reason Atticus should be found guilty is that the judge asked “How many witnesses do you got” “One” Atticus replied (Lee 253).
In the jury during the case¨’Atticus was showing the jury that Tome had nothing to hide¨(Lee 225). This supports the claim because Atticus is truly fighting for Tom. He was doing everything possible to prove that Tom did nothing wrong. Throughout this paragraph Atticus proved to the people in the jury that he was not scared of what they though of him. Atticus is being courageous with being a stong and brave person to defend poor insist Tom
The trial did not turn out well for Tom. He was thrown in prison. Then Atticus came with some bad news for his sister: “‘What’s the matter?’ Aunt Alexandra asked… ‘Tom’s dead... They shot him,’ said Atticus.
Depending on the person, time, and venue every view of a situation is different. Some people tend to stick to one perspective, never daring to try and see things from another point of view. They can’t see past their nose, so to speak. Others change their perspective often. Sometimes a person's outlook relies on how that person is feeling in the moment.
She has started to lose her innocence, which leads her to be able to understand more of what people mean even when they say something else. Scout realizes that her and Jem’s savior was indeed Boo Radley: “‘Hey Boo,’ I said” (Lee 362). Boo Radley’s innocence leads him to be courageous by saving Jem and Scout. Boo has watched Jem and Scout through their times of crisis and as they have grown up. “His mouth was slightly open, and he looked at Jem from head to foot.
Atticus was appointed to be the lawyer of Tom Robinson who was on trial for raping and beating Mayella Ewell. Tom was a black man who worked on a farm for Mr. Link Deas. During the trial, Tom Robinson had no evidence against him that could say he raped and beat Mayella Ewell. Tom looked off balance because his left arm was a foot shorter than his right arm, from when he tore the muscles in a cotton gin when he was ten years old. Tom Robinson went up to tell his version of the story, and it was different and more realistic then what the Ewells’ version of the events.
Viewing a situation only from one side of the argument can leave you unaware of the further details that could have played a big part in why the situation escalated in the first place. Hearing and seeing all the sides will help further your understanding on why people act the way they do, or why some things have
The arguments by emotions or in other words I would like to say being sympathetic and convince others. For example, when I was a child, I used to get mad over little things and I wouldn’t talk to anyone and I would wait for my dad to come home from work so he can ask me what is wrong, then
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it” (Lee 36). When being young you are not completely aware of your surroundings. As you get older and you are around people you see a totally different view of people and can understand them. As getting older you will see and acknowledge things better and have a bigger perspective on
The case shows Tom’s innocence, but also his loss of it. After the case and Tom is proven guilty, he tries to escape and ends up getting himself killed, Tom’s purity is lost in this event. Even though Atticus had evidence that Tom was not guilty, the prejudice and misconduct is shown, even though Tom was
Have you ever had trouble understanding something? Or even someone? Maybe you didn't have an open mind or you simply just didn't understand. Either way you probably tried your best to understand to your fullest extent. My research on dementia helped broaden my understanding of the short story "Babysitting Helen".
In the last few chapters, Scout finally saw the real Boo, and he saved her and Jem from Bob Ewell. Boo is transformed from a monster into a human being. He appeared as a hero at the last minute. This makes Scout feels very guilty in her mind that she had never done anything to him. She thought innocently, “We never put back into the tree what we took out of it; we had given him nothing, and it made me sad” (373).
To begin, Atticus should defend Tom because he knows he is a good innocent man. For example, when atticus proves Tom is innocent when cross examining Bob Ewell. “You’re left handed, Mr Ewell” (pg 237) This quote shows how Tom was innocent because Mayella Ewell was beaten by a prominently
In the case, Atticus presents evidence and reasoning to show that Tom Robinson is not guilty. An important part of this case was the evidence supporting Tom. Mayella claimed that Tom Robinson did many things to her. “Miss Mayella, you’ve testified that the defendant choked and beat you… He blacked your left eye with his right fist?”
