Catholicism is the Roman Catholic Church's faith, practice, and church order. Catholics belong to the faith community that views Jesus Christ as the foundation. Catholics share Jesus' vision and model their lives after Jesus' example of love. Catholics are called to care for one another and to use their gifts and talents for good and the community and the world. In The book Bless Me Ultima, By Rudolfo Anaya, We see many examples of Catholicism. “The Roman Catholic Church traces its history to Jesus Christ and the Apostles. Over centuries, it developed a highly organizational structure headed by the papacy, the oldest continuing monarchy in the world.” This shows that catholicism and god have been around for a long time and hold a lot on the world. Another quote from catholicism is. “ I heard her voice choke. She breathed a prayer and crossed her forehead. The flour left white stains on her, the four points of the cross. I knew it was because my three brothers were at war that she was sad, and Eugene was the youngest.” (Anaya Rudolfo,1994, pg 8) This shows that there is a lot of believing and praying and how god brings a big importance to them their mom was scared and believed that god could protect them from the war and getting hurt god is a big importance to them and she believes that god was on her side and she put a lot a faith in him. Another quote is “Once I had told my mother about my dreams, and she said they were visions from God and she was happy because she dreamed that I should grow up and Bless Me, Ultima 5 become a priest”(Anaya Rudolfo,1994, pg 4). The mom has a lot of hope in god and to see that her kids are seeing things like a god she is happy she wants her kids to believe because she believes.
