As humans, we tend to idolize people from all over the world for their remarkable qualities, bravery, actions, skills, leadership or ways of life. These people are often referred to as heroes, whether it is a leader, Superman, or a local community hero, they all share something in common, and it’s not a cape. What makes each of these people heroes? Their extraordinary character traits set them apart from their less noteworthy peers. While there is a myriad of traits that heroes possess, the most significant ones are their bravery, their willingness to ask for help, and their strength to always do what is honorable.

But without books, people are mindless, unaware of their surroundings, and addicted to their parlor walls. The government controls everything and has censorship over any kind of media, but people are still oblivious.

Every past and modern culture over the course of history, has its hero’s. A hero is a person or figure that others look up to and use as forms of protection. Many cherish the hero’s, they make up who we are today. The Anglo-Saxon hero, Beowulf, and the postmodern hero/hero’s, the soldiers, both show the traits of bravery, selflessness, and loyalty. To have the trait of bravery you have to have lots of confidence in yourself and have courage.
The second trait a hero must have is that they must also show sympathy and empathy towards their foes, no matter the circumstances. An example of this is Nazi Field Marshall Erwin Rommel. Now first off, I know what your thinking, He 's a Nazi! He couldn 't have possibly done anything that contributed towards society could he?
Villains. We either love them or hate them, generally leaning more towards hatred. But what is it that makes these characters so appealing? What about them triggers such strong emotions in us that we feel the need to pay attention to how their every move influences how the protagonist behaves? It’s simple really, heroes are socially normed to be the good, and villains the evil; yet villains have a depth that heroes lack.
I believe that a hero should possess the skills to fight for a what they believe in whether their belief is good or bad. They should be recognized at some point in time and praised for their actions even if their actions were just speaking up. They should possess courage and bravery to do what they think is right. People think that a hero is someone who has superpowers or fights crime but that isn't fully true, anyone can turn any qualities they have into qualities a hero has as long as they know the risks of what they are trying to do because some people may consider someone to be a hero while other people think they aren't a hero. I believe that Odysseus is a hero based on opinion.
However, heroism can take place in our everyday lives by simple brave actions. A hero has many noble qualities such as courage, humility, patience, being selfless and caring. They will put other people before themselves and make sure others are content. Heros are also intelligent and like to think ahead to plan on a good result.
They share their heroic traits and undergo the process of the heroic journey while they differ in their own goals and realistic heroes do not possess any superpower compared to fictional heroes. Yet no matter how literature portrays a hero - whether they use their intelligent brain or abnormal forces, every hero qualifies in every single way to become the role model of
In order for a person to fit the descriptions of a hero, they must obtain courage, selflessness, and humility. Luis Velasco, Alexander Selkirk, and Chuck Noland obtain courage and humility, but lack selflessness. Their traits make them well intentioned people, but they do not fit all the criterion required of a hero, therefore are not considered heroes. A crucial trait a hero must obtain is courage, the ability to overcome a frightening task.
When you think of a hero, what or who do you think of? You probably think of Superman or Spider Man, but heroes are not only people who wear capes and masks or who have super powers. Ordinary people, who walk down the street or people who you are friends with, can be heroes. Christopher Reeves once said, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Three characteristics that make someone a hero include overcoming obstacles, having courage, and showing patience.
For someone to truly be a hero they must have noble qualities and noble qualities are a persons decision to have and not something a villain gives them. Noble qualities can define whether someone is or isn 't a hero. Someone can do a heroic act but if their doing it for their own benefits and not for others they can 't truly be considered a hero. A person that volunteers for fundraisers could be said to have noble qualities and be a hero. These people have noble qualities because they volunteer there own time to help others.
