Most people believe that heroes are born, but others believe that a hero can be made. There are many different types of heroes from night-time vigilantes, to the typical super powered ones. The beginning of every hero’s journey and development come the very calling or reason for the person to become the hero. In the 1933 Nazi Book Burning Party, many witnesses helplessly stood by and watched savage Nazi soldiers burn precious and beloved Jewish literature before their very eyes.
What is a hero? Every single hero needs at least three traits to be a good hero. A hero needs to be able go on many dangerous adventurers to help others. In The Sea Of Monsters Percy Jackson is a hero because he is brave, smart, and strong, and is willing to put himself at risk to save others.
Toney Robbins once said, “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” Heroic figure Guy Montag’s decisions are not the only matters that impact his destiny. One being, The Mechanical Hound. Another being, his job as a fireman. Lastly, his interactions with Clarisse. Montag determines his own destiny, but a few factors that have an act are The Mechanical Hound, his occupation as a fireman, and his interactions with Clarisse.
What is a hero? Ask a child and he or she may say a superhero like Superman or Batman. But we all know that heroes are not just those people who defeat the bad guy and save the day. Spanning through millennia, there have been many differences in the meaning of a hero. In modern day, a hero is typically a person who is revered and appreciated for making or attempting to make a difference in the world. Qualities a hero may have are: integrity, leadership, strength, confidence, courage, and humility. These qualities have allowed and equipped men and women to fight for freedom, human rights, equality, and education. Although Malcolm X and Beowulf existed centuries apart and faced different adversities, they both share the heroic traits of courage and leadership.
In the book Fahrenheit 451 there does not seem to be one definite heroic character throughout the book. In fact, most people are portrayed as bad people who do bad things or have to wrong motives in life. Guy Montag is a character that is usually viewed as the antagonist; however, he is actually the hero of the novel because the bad things he does are actually done for good.
books in them, has the courage to hide this contraband in his own home, and he has no worries of being caught until Beatty becomes suspicious.
Rev. Dr. John Prochaska, opens the second chapter of his nonfiction work Extreme Heroism by writing, “The first thing that sets extreme heroism apart from other forms of heroism is its relationship to injustice and justice; it is partly a response at an emotional level to seeing an injustice, hearing of an injustice, or otherwise experiencing an injustice.” In Bradbury’s world of Fahrenheit 451, the protagonist Guy Montag lives in a similar world of injustices; a city of rampant oppression, extreme totalitarianism, and limited knowledge. If anyone steps outside of the borders of conformity and ignorance, their home will be burned to ash as an example to the rest. Living in a brutal environment like this pushes people to intellectual suicide
The word “hero” creates powerful emotional responses, and in today’s society heroes are needed now more than ever. Heroes are needed for inspiration and to make a difference in the world. When thinking of a hero, some may envision imaginary figures such as Superman or Wonder Woman, while others may think of an individual who has helped them through a hard time. Today, the individuals that people look up to may not classify as true heroes, and society needs a better understanding of what truly makes a hero. A few traits that are consistent with all heroes include bravery and fearlessness in challenging situations. Beowulf, the main character in the epic poem Beowulf, Baba, the protagonist Amir’s father in The Kite Runner, and
I believe that a hero should possess the skills to fight for a what they believe in whether their belief is good or bad. They should be recognized at some point in time and praised for their actions even if their actions were just speaking up. They should possess courage and bravery to do what they think is right. People think that a hero is someone who has superpowers or fights crime but that isn't fully true, anyone can turn any qualities they have into qualities a hero has as long as they know the risks of what they are trying to do because some people may consider someone to be a hero while other people think they aren't a hero.
Perceiving what a hero is an easy feat to accomplish. Everyone has a hero imagined in their head. Their hero could be someone like batman, or they could be a real person. Some people can instantly think of who their hero is, while for others it takes them a minute. You can imagine a new hero or chose to adore an already famous hero. In the end everyone has a hero that they can admire.
Heroes are people who risk their lives for others. Like Welles Crowther,” I found the stairs, follow me, and help as many as you can help.” He was a true hero, he knew he needed to go up. Even if that risks his life. Another example, Mulan, her father was very ill. She had to make a decision between staying safe and not doing her father’s job in fighting. Well, she didn’t care if she would get in trouble she just did it. (insert quote ?)
It is the year 1968, the height of the Vietnam war, you are an American soldier who has just witnessed your friend being shot by a hidden Vietnamese sniper. He is begging and crying for help, a medic tries to help him but he is shot too. Though you are behind cover and are safe from the sniper, you want to help him. But your CO (Commanding Officer) has ordered you to stay behind cover as he wants to wait for tanks and let your friend die. Would you disobey your CO´s command and run out of cover and go help your fellow soldier? With the possibility of getting killed by the sniper? Or would you refrain from helping him, stay safe from the sniper, wait for tanks, and let your friend die? Well that is the situation the character Animal Mother
When you think of a hero, what or who do you think of? You probably think of Superman or Spider Man, but heroes are not only people who wear capes and masks or who have super powers. Ordinary people, who walk down the street or people who you are friends with, can be heroes. Christopher Reeves once said, “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” Three characteristics that make someone a hero include overcoming obstacles, having courage, and showing patience.
If there were no villains there would still be heroes.Heroes are defined as people who are admired for their courage, outstanding achievements and noble qualities. These moral values are what make a hero and with these values people can be thought of as heroes.People become heroes by how they help others, there qualities and the actions they make to help the world be a better place even if no villains intervene or create problems.
