Bonilla 2 Jehovany Bonilla 02/16/17 Cid, English 1 2A Romeo and Juliet: unconventional “love” Love is defined as an intense feeling of deep affection. Love is when you go that extra mile for someone , when you feel silly or butterflies in your stomach when you are around the person you like. Infatuation is an intense but short-lived passion or admiration for someone or something. For example, it is when you don 't really like someone one you just feel like they are supposed to be with you because they are beautiful or pretty and it is something that you feel for a short time something, that you will forget because it wasn 't something that you wanted , it wasn 't something that you heart wanted it was something that your body did . This quote was representing Infatuation between Romeo and Rosaline. This is an example of infatuation because Romeo was not sure if he actually loved rosaline or just admired how pretty she was. Also if this was true love they would both feel the same way about each other , they would both think about each other and fall in love. But in this example Rosaline doesn 't feel the same way Romeo feels about her and he becomes very depressed. Although many people think that infatuation was presented in romeo and juliet it was actually love because love is Love is defined as an intense feeling of deep affection. This is also shown in “The Notebook by Nicholas Spark” and also the Titanic by James Cameron” . Also another book that portrays true love would be “ Fault In Our Stars by John Green” . Although this was a great example of infatuation Romeo didn 't know what he actually wanted until he met this other girl but that will be explained later on in this document. Romeo wasn 't really in love with Rosaline because if he really was in love with her he would be thinking about her looks, something that wouldn 't leave his mind if he was actually in love with Rosaline. Also, he wasn 't really in love with her was …show more content…
Out- Of love”. This is showing that he was losing some of the feelings that he actually had for Rosaline. He also does really talk about her alot. The n later on in the story Romeo finds this girl that he instantly falls in love with when he met her in a party. Her name was Juliet and i believe this was true love . They both were thinking about each other and also they would always fall in love with each other every time they met. For example in the website GoodReads they have a quote from The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks, “I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I 've led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I 've loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough..”This is another example of love from The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. This is saying that all the love this person gave the their significant other he is ok because he knows he loved her with all her heart . This is portrayed in Romeo and Juliet in how they love each other and how they will do anything for them to be together. Although many
Fake Love There is a difference between love and infatuation. In the Play Romeo and Juliet, Romeo claims Juliet is the woman he is helplessly in love with and is destined to be with. Although he may think that he loves her, his desire is captivated by her looks. Throughout the play, it becomes more obvious through Romeo's words, history, and knowledge that he does not know the loyalty of love. “Young men’s love then lies not truly in their hearts, but in their eyes” (Act 2, Scene 3, Lines 67-68)
Romeo and Juliet were truly infatuated with each other, rather than truly in love, because they did not have time to get to know each other. When Romeo and Juliet first met, they only talked to each other for a few minutes in poetry, and then immediately kissed, they were rushing there forbidden relationship, they
This is a reason because Romeo just got over Rosaline, when he sees Juliet he is somewhat using her as a rebound. “Out of her favor, where I am in love.” (act 1 scene 1 line 163) In this scene, Romeo is going on and on about how he loves Rosaline but she doesn’t love him back. Later on, he sees Juliet at the Capulet party and falls ‘in love’ with her.
but he then fell in love with Juliet. Even though Romeo had just gotten turned down by Rosaline he still loves her and states, “...Nor ope
A few days prior, he was love sick about Rosaline, and confessing his love about her, but the moment he set eyes on Juliet, he was struck with love once again. In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo
*One of the most iconic love stories ever written has many different love types throughout the story. Shakespeare’s “Romeo And Juliet” has examples of Unrequited love, Romantic love, parental love, Friendship, and Love of Family Honor. Two very prominent love types shown in this story are Unrequited love, and Romantic love. These two love types have similarities and differences, and will be expanded on after examples are shown. The story of “Romeo And Juliet” has many love types.
At the beginning of this popular Shakespeare play, Romeo claims to be in love with a girl named Rosaline. He cries for days about her before he meets Juliet because she rejected his love for her. When Romeo first appears in the play, he appears to be too distracted with his heartache from Rosaline’s disenchantment of Romeo’s affection. His dwelling over his “love [for Rosaline], feel no love...
This shows that she’s always thinking of him, always wanting to call for him. She speaks, she claims, and she thinks but is it true. There is love at first sight but is it true love? Sure Romeo and Juliet would die for each other but that doesn’t prove true love. Romeo was obsessed with Rosaline until the Capulet’s Ball.
Romeo is not really in love with Juliet; he is infatuated with her. At the start of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet Romeo thinks that he is “out of [Rosaline's] favor, where [he is] in love (1.1.168). He spends the bulk of the first act sulking because he thinks he has been shunned by his one and only. When Romeo first sees Juliet he says “ for I neer saw true beauty till this night” (1.5.53). This quote shows how unsatisfied Romeo is about love.
We all know, or have heard of the exemplary romantic tale of Romeo and Juliet. The classic love story, written by a well-known playwright, William Shakespeare, tells the story of two star-crossed lovers, Romeo and Juliet, who stem from feuding families. Romeo is a Montague and Juliet, a Capulet, whose parents will arrange a marriage with Paris once she has exceeded her fourteen years. Within seconds of their encounter at a feast held by the Capulets, Romeo and Juliet claim to have fallen in love. In this moment, I believe they mistook attraction for love, and there is a clear distinction between infatuation and love.
In one case Romeo talks about his unreturned love for Rosaline, saying, “Out of her favor, where i am in love” (1.1.158). Romeo is hinting at the point that Rosaline has nothing to do with him, yet, he is in love with her. In this case Rosaline will never return Romeo’s love for her, displaying unrequited love. This love is shown once again in another part of the story with Juliet. Juliet’s mother wants her to marry Paris (who also wants to marry juliet)
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night(1.5.51-52)” From this quote, this is showing that Romeo is Superficial because with this we can see how he is questioning love with Rosaline
The final reason Romeo and Juliet are not truly in love is that they decide to get married right after they meet. “Three words, dear Romeo, and good night indeed. If that thy bent of love be honorable, thy purpose marriage, send me word tomorrow by one that I’ll procure to come to thee. Where and what time thou wilt perform the rite, and all my fortunes at thy foot I’ll lay and follow thee my lord throughout the world.” (act 2 scene 2 line 148-154)
Adding on to that Romeo couldn't have just flipped a switch and turned his love off for Rosaline that fast it takes time to get over someone. Once they got to know each other it's understandable they started to fall in love but not at first sight before they knew each other it was just the appearance that caught them off, guard. But he knew that appearance was all he needed when he saw Juliet because he automatically knew she was the one and ended up being correct even if it didnt end the way he wanted
“It seems to me, that love could be labeled poison and we’d drink it anyway”, says Atticus. This quote means that love can be dangerous, but we, as humans, are willing to take the risk in order to find happiness. This quote relates to Romeo and Juliet because Romeo and Juliet knew that there would be so many risks falling in love with each other, but they were willing to take those risks because they love each other. In the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, Romeo and Juliet are star-crossed lovers whose love for each other shows, in the way, they are willing to die for each other, the way they forgive each other, and the way they are willing to leave their families for each other.
