Streszczenie/Abstract:
The thesis contains an analysis of logistics strategies, methods and tools implemented in e-commerce business. Some examples of process oriented management and an analysis of an influence of new communication and distribution channels with other logistics requirements to successful operations and processes in e-commerce enterprises are also presented.

During that time Dell Computer Corporation reported multimillion dollar orders taken through its Website. The success of Amazon.com fastened the arrival of Barnes & Noble's (largest retail bookseller in the United States) e-tail website. Before that Barnes & Noble sold books directly to customers through mail-order catalogs. It first began selling books online in the late 1980s, in an early generation venue called Trintex (a joint venture between Sears and IBM) but the company's website was not launched until May 1997. According to the site statistics and database it now carries over 2 million titles . 1997 was also the year in which AutoByTel (car selling company) reported that they had sold their millionth car over the Internet website. High amount of orders which in many times were including small objects created the need for those e-tailers to use outsourced delivery companies. ERP systems support company management in the area of planning, production and distribution and enables a quick response on demand change in terms of conditions and restrictions on the market. Compared to other classes, this MIS class has at home quizzes, hands-on activities, and a more laid back environment. I believe that a ERP system is not efficient or effective when it comes to classes because it makes it harder to cater to the uniqueness of each subject. It would be difficult to work with the students because there would be more constraints on teaching and learning in general. Every class and student is different, which makes creating a ERP system difficult to implement. This company is one of the largest Internet bookstores. Barnes and Noble’s first store opened in 1917. Their website was launched in 1997, which many speculated was to compete with the rising Amazon website. Later that year, B & N sued Amazon for using the slogan “Earth’s Biggest Bookstore” due to their lack of titles in comparison to their own (which was close to 200,000 titles). While the suit failed, critics of B & N believed this showed an, “old, tired, unhip giant – exactly the wrong image to project to the burgeoning Web audience” Many also complained their website was slow, buggy and difficult to use.

They also provide shipping products for a reasonable cheap price. They also have improved their warehouses by giving some space to other sellers who want to sell their items through Amazon. They differentiate and provide better quality than their competitors across the industry.
Causes According to Amin & Noor (2013), the E-consumers generally refer to the purchaser of goods and services over electronic systems such as Internet and other computer networks. This new group of consumers is increasing in number over the years as on-line shopping become a trend and manifestation of modern life style. Based from the Paynter & Lim (2001), E-commerce would provide consumers with benefits such as interactive communications, fast delivery, and more customization that would only be available for consumers through online shopping. Product information in the Internet is more compact and it ranges from various sites.
