Eileena Luu Mrs. Eddins English II Honors 03/30/23 Opening Statement Greetings, people of the jury, my name is Eileena Luu. I am here to represent the prosecution of Adnan Syed who murdered Hae Min Lee. When Hae told Adnan that she would be breaking up with him for the final time he was heart-wrenched as if someone had taken a piece of him away. Sadness and anguish continued to consume him more after he found out that Hae would quickly find another partner to share her love with. While in this deep state of sorrow came an urge for vengeance that would drive him to kill. She was an innocent high school girl who was going to graduate soon at Woodlawn high school but had her future taken away from her. Jay had described the moments of what Adnan planned to do to kill Hae ever since the morning of January 13th, to the detectives. When Adnan kept rambling about killing Hae for what she did to him, Jay didn’t take it that seriously until the day progressed. When Jay dropped him off at Woodlawn High School he would leave his car and phone in Jay’s possession. Jay would later meet up with him at Best Buy and to Jay’s shock, Adnan revealed Hae’s body to him in the trunk of her car; he wanted Jay to help bury Hae’s body. Jay was very distraught about the whole situation when he met back with Jenn. After carrying this burden for about a month, he turns himself to the detectives to be
Sarah Koenig's Serial based upon the murder of Hae Min Lee and the investigation and legal proceedings that followed the murder. The primary suspect during the investigation, Adnan Syed, was eventually found guilty after a mistrial and has since spent his time in prison with an impeccable record. Both Adnan and Hae were outstanding students involved with various extracurricular activities and were generally considered friends, even after they broke up. Hae ended the year long relationship under what seemed to others as amicable terms. The primary motive the investigators presented was that the murder was simply a crime of passion.
A tennager called Hae Min Lee was murdered on January 13, 1999. The cause of her death was by strangulation. The police and Hae's friends has been searching for her until she was later found in February 9, 1999 at the leakin park by a guy named Mr. S. when Adnan was convicted of murdering Hae. Leakin Park was a park where people describe it as scary or not a good place with people going there just to drink or smoke. Mr. S. was suspicious to the cops which led to many points of questioning.
The truth is that Adnan Syed did not kill her because the state's case against Adnan had many holes in it. The police did not consider didn’t consider other suspects. And Adnan had an alibi for that day. All this evidence proves that Adnan

Adnan Syed, Hae’s ex-boyfriend, was convicted of the murder and was sentenced to life in prison. Throughout the Serial Podcast, we are shown many different points of view of whether or not Adnan Syed was guilty or innocent. I believe that Adan Syed is guilty of murdering Hae Minn Lee because he doesn’t recall or remember much of what happened the day she went missing, and his location of where he was that day and what he was doing
This is why Jay should be charged guilty for the death of Hae; and Adnan, based on his personality and legal actions is without a doubt guilty of aiding the murder of Hae. Adnan and Jay’s run in the with police is something to behold. “Jay said he didn’t take it too seriously.” (Koenig, “Episode 1”). This is what Jay told Sarah.
Adnan Syed's case remains an ongoing and complex investigation of a typical teenage romance breakup, spanning an extensive 24-year period up to the present day. Adnan's case led to continuous disagreements over his conviction on February 25, 2000, being charged with first-degree murder, Kidnapping, false imprisonment, and robbery. Some say that his conviction should be overturned, and some say that Adnan's conviction should be maintained. Based on the evidence, Adnan should keep his conviction, serving 30 years of prison.

He also reported that Adnan told him a few days before he killed Hae, but he then says that he didn’t know until the murder.
, what was the reason for this cruel act? I believe that Adnan Syed is innocent of the murder of Hae Min Lee because Adnan was on time to track practice that time. Also because a girl named Asia was talking to Adnan at the library before track started. The first reason I believe Adnan is innocent is because he was not late to track practice.
This was quite the battle for Adnan Syed, a young oriental male who was accused of murdering his long-time girlfriend in January of 1999. Hae-Min Lee, Adnan’s girlfriend, went missing in January and her body was found buried in a local park 3 weeks later. Adnan Syed is innocent of killing Hae-Min Lee because of three reasons: Cristina Gutierrez, Adnan’s lawyer, failed to put him in a position to win the trial, Jay is not an effective witness, and the window of time does not match up. Adnan is not at fault
