Prejudice is mostly defined as being impolite and unfair to someone who is a different race or religion. But, not all religions face prejudice, some speedily advance, where others start falling behind because of the way they look and what their ancestors have done. Not everyone will come bomb your country. Not everyone is bad because of their appearance. People need to learn to control these feelings while just looking at everyone as a human. In Harper Lee's, To Kill a Mockingbird prejudice is shown through a trial where a Black is considered guilty even though everyone knew he was not at fault. Prejudice is defined through many forms and questions society greatly. Prejudice involves one being biased and judgmental towards a specific race, race, religion etc. and many times the one who is suffering goes through a lot of harm.

For example, at this time juries consisted of only Whites and "[no] jury [decided] in favor of a colored man over a white man", (208). Even with all the evidence that a Black did nothing wrong, the juries immediately choose the White so that their reputation is not ruined. Now that juries consist of all different kinds of people, the trials are fairer and the one who is proven guilty really deserves it. Also, people know that nothing will happen to them when they face someone who is Black so they will "take advantage of a Negro's ignorance", (221). Instead of the Blacks dragging the case to the court, the Whites will and when they do they blame their mistake on the Blacks and they know that in the end they will win. In Harper Lee's To Kill a Mockingbird prejudice takes over a Black who has to go through and unfair trial and this happened to so many people and when it did, no one really thought much about how much they had to go
