Even with this reputation, it’s not the only thing they did wrong. A different reason why the Crusades were negative is because they would kill the innocent. In Document 7, it states, “-the crusading knights were often abused and co,,ottoes atrocities against Eastern Orthodox Christians, Jews and Muslims in the areas through which they passed.” This “-made them hated by all groups throughout the region. This is important due to the fact that they’re killing innocents. They killed those who were bystanders.
NEGATIVE EFFECTS OF RELIGION ON SOCIETY Religious groups have had vey bad effects on society; they caused a lot of harm to people and property. Firstly they cause death, injury and might even people for life. Some people would even get traumatized as a result of havocs caused by religious bodies. These people kill people a lot. For example a great number of people were killed in Nigeria when Boko Haram bombed the mosque one Friday.
The Gypsies, most like the Jews, were moved by Nazis to unusual areas, and almost the entire race of Gypsies in Eastern Europe was wiped out. Hitler considered the Jehovah’s Witnesses to be a threat because from the very beginning, this strong group of Christians believed in no other God than Jehovah (“The Holocaust: Non-Jewish Victims” 2). Hitler chose different ways and means to persecute these different
They hated each other so much because of their difference of religion and gods. In this paragraph i will explain which religion was affected the most. Document 7 states that christians were desperate for soldiers because they had very little soldiers to fight against muslims. This is (important/interesting/relevant) because it 's explain a bit more on why christians were affected the most. Document 4 states that in the 4th crusade instead of the two christian churches uniting christians permanently split them apart.
People wanted him out of the church. During the Witch Trials, Parris’ teachings also revolved more around Satan and a person’s sinful ways. Lastly, the final effect of the Salem Witch Trials was that it affected many individuals personally. Reverend Parris’ reputation became so horrible, they voted him out of the church. Then, John Procter was convicted of witchcraft and hung.
During Kristallnacht (“The night of the broken glass”), 8,000 Jewish businesses were destroyed, 30,000 Jews taken to concentration camps. Almost 2,000 through 2,500 deaths were caused by the terrible events of that horrible night. This tragedy was not only the SS and SA carrying out this persecution but it was met with involvement of many German citizens. German citizens aren’t as innocent as history makes them. Now there were some Germans who opposed to the Holocaust, that were afraid to speak out because Hitler was so powerful at the time.
His reasoning was to turn whites and blacks against each other in bloody confrontation. Roof stated, “No, you’ve raped our women, and you are taking over the country, I have to do what I have to do”. The Tsarnaev brothers chose to use pressure-cooker bomb devices during a marathon in Boston. The reasoning behind the bombing were revenge for all the innocent Muslims killed in American-led war. The survivors
The ones that did not have the sense to escape Bosnia while they could were found and capture. The Serbs even went so far as to take over what was thought to be a safe house to lure in unsuspecting Muslims trying to escape the Serbian wrath. One of the most heartbreaking massacres happened on July 11 1995, when eight thousand Muslim men and boys that had fled to the safe house were captured and killed. Two thousand prisoners of war were killed by the Serbs, and the entire Muslim population of Srebrenica was expelled from their
The Catholic Church’s flawed ideas on how people should prove themselves worthy of God’s protection eventually led to public disapproval. One man, named Martin Luther, had an idea to denounce the method of the Catholic Church that would influence the world and change Christianity forever. When the Catholic Church was first formed, its goals were to spread and to help people follow
These innocent Muslims from London went to their holy mosque just to be met by the man that would attempt to kill them solely because of their religion. An article called, “Teens are Often hated recruits” by Tamara Koehler and Tom Kisken, establish the idea that, “the most religiously motivated hate crimes are acts of vandalism, and personal attacks are directed against Muslims” (Koehler 2). The question is why Muslims suffer from so many hate crimes? Muslims are blamed for immigration crisis in many countries because it’s another group that the whites have to compete against and are considered a threat. Muslims are also to blame for bringing terrorism to America and have gained so much power that they put fear in the citizens of victimized countries (Moore 1).
Shi Huangdi was a strong supporter of legalism which caused him to oppress his people. He would punish his people in inhumane ways such as murdering them. In Document Set 3 source B, it shows scholars being executed and their books being burnt, so that there was one central power. Shi Huangdi didn’t want anyone going against him or the laws so he’d penalize people very harshly. According to the article, “Anyone who is not a court scholar dares to keep the ancient songs, historical records or writings of the hundred schools, these should be confiscated and burned...those who in conversation dare to quote the old songs and records should be publicly executed...those who use old precedents to oppose the new order should have their families wiped
The Black Death had a big impact on European religion. Because people could not understand the plague, they strongly believed that the plague was a punishment sent by God. The church claimed that God was punishing people because of the sins they have committed. They organized religious marches and told people to pray to get rid of the horrible disease. However, around 1348, Christians started accusing the Jews of bringing and spreading the plague to Europe.
/11 changed the way of American life. Many lives were lost due to the awful attack, but unfortunately many Arab and Muslim Americans had to pay for the cost. Post 9/11 is a continuous struggle for many Muslim Americans. Due to 9/11 many Muslims face discrimination, racial prejudice, and hate crimes. All throughout our history, hate crimes were targeted towards minority groups, such as: African Americans, Latinos, Italians, Irish, Germans, and Asians; today, hate crimes are targeted towards Muslims.
What would you consider a person to be that would gleefully destroy Christian churches and arrest and imprison people for the crime of being a Christian? Would you consider Saul of Tarsus forever lost; could we call Saul of Tarsus a murder? Was Saul of Tarsus a murder, did he kill Christians? We do know that Saul of Tarsus was arresting Christians, and if they were found guilty of being Christians they could have been stoned to death. The next group of cruel men we would consider lost if they were judged by our present day code of conduct.
No one is safe from it, it targets children, women, elderly, and the innocent. A crime that starts with an intent to kill and possibly wipe out every one of a certain race, ethnicity or religion. This crime is so terrible that it is given its own category different from other international crimes. Many have been able to succeed with their plans to eliminate a group, since the biblical times until today genocide is still going on. I am not sure if this crime will ever come to end.
