To In the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee, Tom Robinson is a accused of raping Mayella Ewell’s. The evidence that will show that Tom Robinson is guilty. The best physical evidence is that Mr.Robinson left arm is crippled. “His left was fully twelve inches shorter than his right, and hung dead at his side.”(Chapter 18). So this mean that his left arm is does not work. If you look at where on her body, she was beating by somebody left hand. Incidentally her father Bob Ewell is left handed and he was very angry at her. In short, Tom Robinson is not capable of beating Mayella Ewell with his left hand because Mayella Ewell when she take the witness stand, she changes her story all the time so Tom Robinson is not feel guilty at all so
This day August 26,1935 Tom Robinson was convicted of raping Mayella Ewell. She is a local Maycomb resident. However most of the “facts” in the case don’t make much sense, with the lack of evidence Tom Robinson could possibly be innocent. So what evidence presented did not add up the The first piece of evidence came from Sheriff Heck Tate Who said that Mayella’s
The racial tension in the United States was very high. Black people were killed by the Ku Klux Klan, lynching and other racially triggered violence were very strong in the south. People of color would receive poor education and have to be segregated from white people. Martin Luther King Jr. stood up for equal rights and was killed trying. From the 1850s up was hard years for colored people.
In both of theses stories there is some precious stuff going on. In to kill a mockingbird Tom Robinson was accused of rape that he did not do, but because he was black he had got accused of it. In the report of Emmett Till Till was killed because he had want to the south to visit his family but he was killed because he was black. Emmett Till was innocent but because he had no wetness no one would have ever believed him in his point of view.
She uses this to support Atticus’s claim with the most prominent evidence the defense had, circumstantial evidence. “… there is circumstantial evidence to indicate that Mayella Ewell was beaten savagely by someone who led almost exclusively with his left. We do know in part what Mr. Ewell did… he swore out a warrant, no doubt signing it with his left hand, and Tom Robinson now sits before you, having taken the oath with the only good hand he possesses- his right hand.” (Lee 206 par. 6)
Even though the jury found Tom Robinson guilty of raping Mayella Ewell, in that matter Atticus Finch, lawyer defending Tom Robinson, said that Tom Robinson was not guilty because he only has one arm and there is no way that Tom Robinson was able to hurt her while Bob Ewell is perfectly fine and
”Lee 238 this is saying that he could be left handed and could be the one the abused Mayella. This might cause the unbiased audience to feel and think that Bob could have done it. Another reason is that Bob did not call the doctor when he found Mayella the evidence is that in the book it says “It wouldn’t dress any, Mr. Finch.
Everyone in the courthouse on the night of the trial knew that Tom Robinson was innocent. But at the end of the trial, that didn’t matter. Tom Robinson was a black man, and because of this difference that should not make a difference, he had no say over the family of whites, the Ewells. Tom Robinson was wrongly convicted of raping and beating Mayella Ewell. The evidence of the case leads to the conclusion that Bob Ewell, Mayella’s father was responsible for this misfortune.
WOW! To Kill A Mockingbird has been a popular book for many years. The reason for this is it brings out a main theme which was common back then and still happens now. The theme of racism is seen in the book mainly at Tom Robinson's trial. The Ewell family represents the pride that whites had for innocent blacks.
despite the unwavering dedication of atticus finch in To Kill a Mockingbird the absence of evidence and a moving courtroom speech tom Robinson is convicted of a crime he likely didn't commit , tom Robinson was convicted of a crime he didn't commit because the absence of evidence , tom Robinson is eventually killed, and the jury ruling causes both those who advocated Robinson's conviction and those who were convinced of his innocence to question their notations of justice and fairness . Toms death is virtually unnoticed except in the colored folk and a racist Mr.Underwood who says “likened Tom's death to the senseless slaughter of songbirds by hunters and children.” (https://www.cliffsnotes.com/literature/t/to-kill-a-mockingbird/summary-and-analysis/part-1-chapter-1).Tom Robinson tried to climb over the fence to exscape the jail but was killed by the gaurds. atticus helps the children get through the fact that tom robinson is dead for a crime he likely didn't commit by describing to them it is just the way the state of alabama works.
I have been reading To Kill a Mockingbird and in chapters sixteen through twenty-three there have been a lot of crucial parts to the novel, which I will be analyzing. To begin, the trial begins and we find out the verdict of the trail. In this journal I will be characterizing Tom Robinson, who Atticus is defending, and be analyzing why Mr. Ewell would lie. In this paragraph I will be characterizing Tom Robinson while he is in the trial.
First, Tom Robinson should have been found not guilty because he was right handed. Mayella the victim, was punched in the face on the night of the crime. On page 235, Mr. Heck Tate stated that Mayella had a black eye on her right eye

He could not have done everything that Mayella said he did, due to the fact that he one has one working arm. The other arm was caught up in a cotton grind. Further more, it would be highly unlikely that Tom Robinson could have beat and raped Mayella the way she said he did. In To Kill A Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, during Atticus Finch’s closing remarks he says ,“Thomas Jefferson once said ‘ all men are created equal.”’
In chapters 17-24 in To Kill A Mockingbird, Jem and Scout observe their father in court defending Tom Robinson (a black man) from the accusations of the Bob Ewell (a "low grade ' ' white man). In the midst of finding who Boo truly is, Atticus Finch explains to his children, Jem and Scout, that it is a sin to kill the bird because they don’t do anything but make music. As the story progresses, and the two “mockingbirds” are being accused and attacked both verbally and physically, the identity of the mockingbirds surfaces. Tom Robinson was a crippled African American man whose left arm was a foot shorter than his right, where it was caught in a cotton gin.
