Surely getting international level education which provides you with a foreign certificate has an extortionate price, but my family enrolled me in an international school starting first grade. I cannot recall how exactly I learned to read in my early stages of education, but I remember that I hated it. I’ve always disliked reading, I thought it was very boring. My school mainly focused on teaching students to be proficient in English and barely met the government requirements of our first language, Arabic. One of the things I remember in my first few years of school is going to the library at the end of each week to pick up a book to be read by the help of our parents during the weekend.
It inspired me to write creatively and express myself through what I love. Moving to Chelan was hard. Literacy was only an impact through school. My test grades still were not the best. I only read books that were required for an English class.
Before the start of this class, I overused common imagery such as “shine bright like a diamond” to try to convey my feelings. Writing with clichéd imagery dilutes the reader’s attachment to the story because emotions are absent. In this class, I have learned that I have to reflect on my true feelings and emotions before writing. Hopefully allows my readers to feel what I once felt. My favorite imagery that I have written in this class was the spider web in the essay about my grandfather.
While vocabulary and grammar are my strong suits, I know I can continue to acquire new skills to build on the knowledge I already have. With more practice, I can surely sharpen my writing faults until they become strengths. Overall, my writing goals are to gather the skills needed to write with a strong enough conviction to help me in not only my business career but in my everyday life as

In my first rough drafts the formatting incorrect in a lot of different areas of the MLA format. The professor provided a resource online called Purdue Owl that helped me to understand and implement the format into my papers. Lastly my critical thinking skills while writing have increased tremendously. I had a lot of trouble starting essay four because I had trouble writing a paper over a picture and text. The professor went through many different elements that could be analyzed and brought me into a new state of thinking.
English has a different alphabet than the arabic alphabet. The school that I went to offered sheltered classes for the people who did not know english and they were taught english. I wanted to learn english fast and go to regular classes so I worked hard and studied a lot. I would spend at least two hour a day studying in order to leave the sheltered classes and go to the regular class. I was able to get out of sheltered classes the second year which is fast compared to other people.
Likewise, creating a cover letter taught me many useful strategies that I will definitely put to use when it comes time for me to submit an official cover letter to a company. One of the biggest things that I have learned from taking this course is that good content is more important than sophistication. Both are very important in essay writing, but it is more important to have clear content and material so that the audience can understand your position. Last year, I always seemed to lose points on essays for not having sophisticated enough prose, so I came into this class under the impression that the most important things in a
On a day to day basis, I try to use all the different values that I have learned throughout my life and that is because that’s the kind of person I am and I try my best to learn something new everyday, even though sometimes I may not agree with the ways, I know that at the end, it will help make me a better person. I believe i have many FBI values that i haven't quite discovered about myself but i do know that when i do the training and finish the training i will have learned most of them and the day i start working as an FBI Agent i will learn
As an English student this semester, I have learned how to develop essays in an appropriate educated way in English 101. I have learned how to find and properly use different sources in my essays as well as improving on MLA format. This class has also improved my writing skills in my work place.
