Introduction
The world today requires people who are skilled in the art of writing. The practice is carried out from an early age where young children first learn how to use the alphabet. Writing then goes on to dictate 99% of a student’s life. In later stages of life that are after education, some people opt to concentrate on the practice through jobs such as journalism, editorial work, publishing, and report writing. However, like any other issue, writers go through varying degree of challenges. We will examine some of the common errors experienced in writing.

Repetitive use of the same words is a problem that faces most students of the current generation.

Professionals in the field of writing advice that if the sentence bears meaning without the use of such a word, then that is a clear sign that you should do away with it.
Extra Prepositions
If your writing appears to be somewhat choppy, determine the number of propositions placed within a sentence and then go on to subtract the number from half the original count. Researchers add that the effects of prepositions are weakening the quality of speech, and the more they pile up in a given sentence, the duller it becomes to read. At this point, note that keeping your reader interested and captivated is the key factor in ensuring your success in writing.

It is essential that such modifying clauses be set to clear for all to understand. For example, it is wrong to say that, “a bucket of worms were on top of the bench.”
Bold/Italics/Underline
Use of Bold, Italics and Underline should also be kept to a minimum. It would be more beneficial to emphasize and build on your prose if you need to highlight a certain point. Using bold should only apply to headings and sub-headings. For online writers, using underline applies to hyperlinks and should not be used for other purposes lest you end up confusing your reader.
Solving These Problems
• Create a culture of reading magazines and books. By doing so, you get to learn a lot about writing from published work as well as borrowing necessary techniques.
• Go through your written work after completion. For example, once you are through writing a given article, proofread it to ensure it has met all the required aspects. Remove overused verbiage and eliminate word usage and punctuation challenges.

In “Ethos and Error: How Business People React to Errors”, Larry Beason (2016) demonstrates how academic mistakes affect both students and teachers, especially business people. Beason’s main argument is that errors influence seriously on nonacademic audiences, not only in common reading but also in normal life. To prove his point of view, Beason does his experiment on fourteen business people reading articles about business and everyday handwriting and see how they react. Beason divides his examination into two phases: a survey with twenty mistakes and an interview with everyone. In the questionnaire, the author introduces five common academic errors and each of them consists four examples.

In her essay "Does Texting Affect Writing?", Michaela Cullington presents her argument that texting does not impact formal writing written by students. She discusses the concerns presented by many people about how texting language can transfer into writing, but through the use of personal experiences and credible sources she discusses how this is not true. Her use of multiple different studies and situations help boost her argument and allow the reader to truly see how students actually do formal writing. She presents a strong argument as to why those who believe students don't have the control and knowledge to write formally, instead of with text speak, are wrong.
I also had a problem in balancing the words in a pair, so that they have the same kind of structure, this will make a sentence clearly and easy to read. Parallel sentences that follow read more smoothly than the nonparallel ones. I have a great problem putting matching words and ideas into matching structures. Some of my sentences were fragments with incomplete phrases. English 1010 class helped to improve and change my level of writing.
After reading the first chapter, writing with Style, from “Thinking Well”, by John R. Trimble, he made it seem as if he was writing about my writing when he explained a novice writer. Trimble explains how a novice writer would write by giving examples of how their style of writing looks like. For example, Trimble explains how new writers unconsciously write and how they are not aware of their egocentrism. He states what a novice would have to achieve objectivity, empathy, courtesy and social sensitivity in order for him to have a readable style. Trimble then discusses what makes a veteran writer and how their thinking process reflects their writing situation.
It is essential to captures the reader 's interest and this will be done by finding how to well write a thesis sentence that will want the readers to keep reading and find out more about the thesis. In “Does Texting Affect Writing?”, Cullington used voice markers to demonstrate what others had to say about texting. For the reader, the voice markers help to integrate quotes of what others stated connecting it back to the argument. This made the text run smoothly for the reader and not lose focus. “To avoid confusion in your own writing, make sure that at every point your reader can clearly tell who is saying what” (71).
My papers were continually filled with red pen marks that circled blatant spelling errors or underlined incorrect verb tense usage, making for one mess of a paper. On the contrary, whenever I looked over to see my best friend’s paper it was unblemished, without a single red mark to be seen. Yet, instead of being dissatisfied with my poor performance, I became motivated to improve my writing through reading. As a youngster, I quickly discovered the Junie B. Jones series, and, before I knew it, I owned the entire twenty-eight book series. Barnes & Noble became my second home away from home, and, for Christmas, I remember receiving peculiar stares from my peers when I told them that a gift card to the bookstore was at the top of my list.
This semester was filled with many bumpy roads. I struggled in the beginning of the semester with my writings , as I didn 't feel confident enough to write a well developed writing. I seemed to find myself struggling whereas writing was not my favorable subject. The major errors I had in my writings this semester would be , grammatical errors,work citations, transition words, formatting ,paragraph development, sentence structure , and sentence level issue. Therefore I have set goals to improve my writing in the future.
Referring to an educational setting, when students are instructed to write a formal paper they often leave mistakes on their paper unknowingly or unaware of their mistakes due to the comfortability they have gained through online writing and instant correction, also known as autocorrect. Autocorrect is the software function that makes or suggests corrections for mistakes in spelling or grammar while typing. Frank Gannon captured the point concerning absence of proof reading in his piece English 99: Literacy among the Ruins by allowing the audience to visualize the decline of writing skills among youths in his college class. Gannon begins the piece by describing to the audience his new position as a college “philosopher” educating college students that were unable to learn in a higher-level English class due to the automatic assumptions that the students would be “overly challenged” (Gannon 215). As any individual would, the students in the class began to assemble into their own groups: “the bored looking girls, the jocks and the Bosnian refugees” (Gannon 216).
When it comes to writing a paper, letter, thank you card, etc., it is difficult for me. The reasons why writing is hard for me is because, a lot of times when I write I get distracted by, other people, thinking about something else on my mind, instead of what I am writing, finishing up my chores, etc. Also, when I write my grammar is incorrect, for example, pronoun errors. In other words, “Everybody don’t care if they hate it or not.” That was wrong, but the correct way to write it is, “Everybody don’t care if he or she hates it or not.”
If I had to make a list with all of my grammar issues, my number one would be “articles”. For an ESL student, it is really difficult to understand when I should use an article and what articles should be used. Thus, articles such as “a” and “the”, are tricky for me. Another challenge for me is

Not onlyhas my understanding of the writing process changed, my whole attitude towards composition has too. This composition course has made a significant impact on my learning experience and has given me tools to take forward into my future educational and professional goals. Many people argue that technology is only making our writing skill worse, this study helps to prove a different theory.
What does writing mean to me? Writing means getting people engaged in your piece. It means people wanting to keep reading what you wrote. The biggest thing about writing to me is expressing your thoughts and letting your mind go. Using good word choice and having a strong voice in the writing is something that makes it good.
Effective writing involves careful choice of words, their organization in correct order in sentences formation as well as cohesive composition of sentences. Also, writing is more valid and reliable than speech. But while speech is spontaneous, writing causes delay and takes time as feedback is not
