Exercise Safety Tips for Overweight People
Everyone needs to exercise to have a healthier body. But if you are overweight, you need to exercise the most. Because if you don’t, you’ll be making yourself more vulnerable to a lot of diseases.
If you are overweight, you have higher risks of having type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and other heart diseases, kidney disease, osteoarthritis, cancer, fatty liver disease, sleep apnea or you’ll have pregnancy problems.
Perhaps you already know about your health risks and you’ve already tried to lose weight through exercising but you find exercising extremely difficult or painful. To help you exercise with less difficulties, here are some exercise safety tips for overweight people.

Warming up helps prepare your body and prevent yourself from pulling your muscles. Before you jump into your exercise regimen, allot at least 2 to 5 minutes warming up. Warm up the main muscles that you’ll be using for your exercise.
For example, you’ll go running. You can do simple leg stretches before you run such as calf raises, lunges or hip circles. You can also do a light jog first to serve as your warm up for your running exercise.
Wear the right gear for your exercise.
Overweight people tend to have more difficulties in maintaining their stability and postural balance due to their greater mass. Hence, overweight people have a higher risk of falling especially when they exercise. To prevent yourself from most injuries, wear the right gear for your exercise.
Always wear comfortable yet the appropriate shoes when exercising. Wearing the right shoes helps protect your feet from developing foot and toe problems such as heel pain, corns and calluses, bunions and others.
