Most sports are part of a team, so they help increase social skills in many ways. Sports can help kids learn the importance of responsibility, and working as a team. It allows kids to meet new friends, and create close relationships with their teammates.
It is valuable because it keeps kids healthy and fit. My next reason is that it allows kids to learn to face competition, and teaches them to work as a team. The last reason is that it raises self-esteem level, improves self-confidence, and helps kids deal with pressure. If kids join competitive sports it would create a much more developed society. It will lead to more developed, hardworking individuals.
The instructor shows the participants a few exercises that all are a part of the combination move, this allows the participant to get the use to the moves and really succeed when it’s time together. Another benefit of the class format is that it alternated between high intensity moves and a bit lower intensity moves, this allows the participants to recover without stopping and it also help retain their energy for the rest of the workout. This workout benefited my aerobic fitness because it challenges my resistance and encourage me to continue even when I thought I had nothing left to give. Throughout the workout, I had found a pattern of breathing that allowed me to pull out more strength and to power through the high intense moves. Even with an improved sense of direction there will always be multiple tasks looking for your attention. As your personal development improves prioritization becomes much easier. The group I observed today is Independent Living Service (IL). IL is a growth and educational group that seeks to train individuals to maximize their growth and development. The meeting was held in Together Lives Change (TLC) and the purpose of the group is to equip adolescents with valuable tools to build healthy relationships, set goals, and become fully prepared for adult living. The group’s goals for today is to budget and plan a food menu, prepare a healthy meal and snack, practice soft skills, learn conflict resolution and develop core communication skills. The environment should use materials and equipment that are age appropriate and reflect opportunities for hands on learning. As a teacher, a daily schedule will give the children great learning opportunities. They will have a planned schedule to build the children’s growth and development.
Investigating an Academic Tug-a-war: PE and GPA Running a stimulating mile, performing relaxing exercises, and spending time with friends all sound pleasant and truly are as components of physical education. Students are given the opportunity to showcase their abilities or improve upon and learn new techniques. Physical education is imperative and provides many benefits to students. This class should continue to be counted in one’s grade point average, despite the recent arguments, proposed by opponents, which greatly lack evidence. An argument in favor of keeping PE when calculating grade point average is, “Gym is freedom and allows students to exercise at their own paces, team up with friends, and learn to keep their bodies in shape” (Hakimian, Kim).
Children with visual impairment have a greater need of fitness because of higher energy demands to perform their activities of daily living. Yoga’s holistic practices include physical, emotional, and mental disciplines, which may help them to cope with many of their challenges. The purpose of this article is to introduce an adapted five step method to teach yoga to children with visual impairment so that they can learn the practices in an effective and interesting way, and perform them simply and easily with confidence. Healthwise Staff states inner strength, often called "resilience," is the ability to cope with the stressful situations that life throws at us. Children need to be building inner strength as it all begins with simple actions or thoughts that children practice, such as planning for what to do next and learning to accept change. Inner strength can help a child face their problems. Children who are strong feel confident when meeting new people, like to do nice things for others, are loving and lovable, and are optimistic about life and are able to stand up to peer pressure so they can avoid using drugs, drinking alcohol, and smoking (Staff).
With my experiences in shadowing physical therapists, working in rehabilitation settings, and lending a helping hand in the community, I am confident that I will embody the vision of the APTA as a future physical therapist. Providing positive feedback, communicating with clarity during treatment sessions, and being able to properly educate my patients on their injuries with confidence will all compliment each other as I will strive to improve the human experience and transform society by optimizing movement. Hearing the words of the child at summer camp made me realize how life-changing rehabilitation can be and hearing statements similar to this make physical therapy one of the most rewarding careers and one that I would love to be apart of.
