This began when he started following the street artist Space Invader this lead him know and explore street art in depth. Street art’s purpose is to leave something or an idea in people. Also an artist’s work is valued from his experiences in practicing art and that what gives his art a meaning. In the film Mr. Brainwash did not have any experience in art, but his work was purchased for a lot of money even if it didn’t have a meaning. the film argues on who’s art is valued less and who’s art is valued more . Street artists spend time to do a work that expresses their selves or their emotions in it not for getting money out of it not like art galleries. The film tries to illustrate the difference between art and what’s sold in gift shops. Art is what leaves a touch in people while what’s sold in gift shops is not always an art and people buy because of their interest in the actual art and that what makes them want to have it or purchase it. That’s exactly what Mr. Brainwash did to make people purchase his
“Behind every great fortune is a crime.” The nature of the world we live in and the art industry are complex. Being an artist is a tough job. Well-known artists usually get a lot of media attention on any regular basis while some up-and-coming artists, get little or no such attention. Therefore, artist are always competing among themselves to come up with the best work to captivate people, stay on top, make a name for themselves and also a living allowance.
Lines, spacing, color and shapes are the basic elements of art. I believe art is an expression of the body, mind, and soul of an individual. I also believe art shouldn 't have any boundaries, nor should have restrictions. I believe art always has something to say, but never needs to make a statement. The audience always has the right to interpret art as they see fit.
Joe Hill’s short story “Pop Art” explores the relationship between inner and outer self and one’s ability to express oneself, looking at these issues through the lens of characters’ conflicts with society and symbolism. The unnamed narrator, his inflatable friend Art, and their antagonists enact the conflicts of being socially targeted for weakness, and being misunderstood and unheard. One of the most crucial points “Pop Art’” delves into is the difference between how a person is viewed by others and who the person is inside—the author uses this dichotomy to show how dishonest about ourselves we are and how we are judged for who we appear to be. The narrator takes direct control of the former by influencing how his peers see him, “cultivating

Read the following article and analyze the expert’s opinion that art can be a generator of “identity” for a community, and examine what is meant by the statement that “public art ‘humanizes’ cities.” Haley, C. (2014, Mar 14).
From being a strictly specialist subject catering for a small elite, contemporary art has entered the cultural mainstream in an unprecedented way. This is, perhaps, where one can draw a line between ‘collecting art’ and simply ‘buying art’. Regardless of the motivation, a collector has a serious, eclectic and discernible approach to accumulating art whereas, in comparison, a plain buyer is a sporadic customer for who the value of art may not be the prime consideration while picking up art arbitrarily. Artists are given celebrity status, and in New York City it is a widely quoted fact that more people visited Imran Qureshi’s in situ artwork on the Met’s rooftop than attended Michael Jackson’s concert at Madison Square Garden.
Introduction Attention Getter ( Capture): Anyone walking down the street in a big city will see the bright, colorful, and illegal “eyesore.” Introduce the topic: Graffiti is illegal in many places but many larger cities also have “legal yards” where artists can paint without the fear of being arrested, like Freak Alley. But some people don’t like of any street art.

Howard Becker describes that arts worlds are constituted by some people instead of individual and these people bring out the rules of the art worlds due to culture or resources. First, Becker explains that people are the key point in the art worlds. To achieve a performing, visual, or literary art event, professional and non-professional people work together.
Benjamin (1936: ) goes on to explain that this value is based upon an image that is made for the purpose of being exhibited. The shift from cult value to an object of exhibition value affects how these objects are seen by the masses (Benjamin, 1936: ).
The film then goes on to ridicule hollywood, as “there is no business like it.” One gets to choose each and every detail, right down to the type of kitten used in a terrorist scene. The is shows how lush, gaudy and medaling the life of a hollywood correspondent can be. The writers of the film, purposely mock hollywood through Stanley Motts as he is a producer who “(wants) the credit.” He is willing to “play with his life” just to be recognised.
Graffiti is considered an art form and is becoming more popular all over the world. This type of artwork has transformed into “a more legitimate form of art through artists like Banksy, who has had his
Street photography captures a lot of candid moments which allows audiences to relate to different emotions that are felt through pictures. Street photography allows collaboration between many people including the artist and regular people that fall into the frame of the camera. Streets and photography come together to give a voice to those who would not normally have one and help influence change in society. I believe all art forms are beneficial to society, regardless of the artist 's intention Vivian Maier has a unique story and way of capturing life on the streets and showing the world her
How Art Positively Impacts Contemporary Culture Art is one of the biggest influencers in today’s world. It has the ability to make positive changes in a number of ways. It is a powerful form of expression used all around the world.
This narration refers not only to the narrator, but also to Guetta and Banksy. The narration by Guetta was heavily dependent on real people and events, as evident from his shadowing of the various street artists and their production and installation processes. On the other hand, Banksy’s narration was largely based on his own interaction with Guetta and with the footages that he shot. According to Nichols (2001, p. 68), such a speech-oriented film like Exit through the Gift Shop (2010) convey meanings that may be worlds apart than what was literally expressed. The narration then, presented different accounts of the real to the audience.
This research was carried out not to only show awareness toward the society but also why people should take art seriously. Often times, we can see lots of people debating whether art is important or not. This happened because the lack of exposure and knowledge that has been taught to them. Art can help to shape the society and affect the society to broaden their view of perspective in life by referring on the artworks because each work of art can give different meanings to life.
By this he means that ‘art’ does not want to be accessible only to a few “highly cultivated men” but instead also to ordinary people, like the people in the audience. By using words such as “cheerful freedom”, “open-heartedness” and “reality” in contrast with “sickens”, “selfishness” and “luxury” he creates the sense that the bad things happen because of the limitation of art and that the better things will come if only people learn to enjoy art. He then says that if art has a limit he “does not wish her to live” which is a strong exaggerated statement and was made to convince the audience of his argument. Morris relates “an honest artist” not sharing his work with “a rich man” who eats food in front of starving soldiers, this could also be interpreted as an exaggeration and might have been so by part of the audience, however the use of imagery would have added to his conviction. He ends his lecture on a powerful note, “I do not want art for a few, any more than education for a few, or freedom for a few”, by using the repetition and relating art to education and freedom he heightens the importance of art in the eyes of the audience as a final technique to persuade
