Humans separate themselves from animals because of how they go through life, people do not rely completely on instinct, they have free thoughts, reactions, and key parts of their lives that make them human. A soul goes through many different conditions on the Earth, which result in a true human. These conditions include birth, growth, emotionality, aspiration, conflict, and mortality. All of these conditions have become very important, but others may have a more profound effect on what kind of person we become. The three that have the most profound effect on a life include growth, conflict, and aspiration. How a person acts in these unique situations determines what kind of person they will become. Conflict comes randomly into a person’s life, how they deal with it becomes the most important part. Conflicts can be the best learning experiences, but they must be approached correctly to get the most out of them. These can jump a person so far ahead into and understanding of the world. Conflict can also swallow you, and pull you down into the darkness. You must protect yourself from it with action. In We Grow Accustomed to the Dark, by Emily Dickinson, she states “The Bravest - grope a little” (Dickinson 12). Some people stand still, sitting in the darkness. This darkness represents the darkness of the real world. The ambitious people grope in the dark, actively looking for the light. The people groping in the darkness become happier people because they made themselves able to find the positivity in the world. Some will accept the darkness or negativity of the world, letting it weigh on them, while others will take action, forcing the light to the surface. Action against the darkness of the world becomes the most important part of becoming happy, pushing through the dark may be the only way to the
