Question
Will the percentage of acid in a fruit affect how much power, or elecrical current it can produce?
Hypothesis
I believe acidity will affect a fruits production of an electrical current. The more acidic the fruit, the more electricity it will produce.
Materials
Multimeter
Fruit 2 each: oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruit
Copper penny
Galvanized nails
Copper wire
Alligator clamps
Procedure
Step 1:
Roll the lemons on a flat surface to soften it so that the nails and penny will have good contact with the juice.
Step 2:
Stick one nail into both lemons so that it reaches the middle, but does not go all the way through. Slice into the first lemon just deep enough to place a penny in it. Clamp an alligator
Homework 5 Chapter 5 Question P4. a.) Answer. Lets represent the decimal numbers into the binary first 1 = 0001 2 = 0010 3 = 0011 4 = 0100 5 = 0101 6 = 0110 7 = 0111 8 = 1000 9 = 1001 10 = 1010 Lets take 16 bits and calculate the check sum
Introduction The purpose of this report is to summarize what our team, the Fig Neutrons, did for the final project of ECE160. For the project we used an Arduino Sparkfun Kit to build a Simon says game with multiple game modes that would display several different game statistics on an LCD screen. The work the team has done includes Charlieplexing LEDs and including code for implementing the LEDs, writing code for a reverse Simon game. We also had to make the game play a different song than the one provided, and write code for the LCD to display wins, losses, game length, and the number of games played.
Buggin’ Out (Buggy Lab) Purpose - To determine the motion of a battery powered buggy & use the data to determine when the two buggies would collide. Beneath Our feet Experiment 1: We put different types of rocks in to three piles that were called Igneous, Metamorphic and Sedimentary. Igneous comes from a volcano. Metamorphic is heat and pressure and Sedimentary is a mixture of conglomerate, fossils and layers. Experiment 2: We put chalk and 3 spoons of sand into a cup and shook it really hard. Some of the sand turned pink which was the colour of the chalk.
The mid-20s was a dreadful period for America, and after that period the military number increased. The American military force had to receive funding, and their significance had to be felt at that after that period. A military is a crucial unit in the U.S because it brings a lot of value to the country when used in the right way. Nonetheless, if the military is used wrongfully, the lives of the militants, as well as their efforts, go to waste. It is a high time that the citizens of the U.S recognized them because they are great warriors and they risk their lives to satisfy the interest of the nation.
THHS implements a program which emphasizes mastery in the humanities, math and science, with an emphasis on the classics, and requires its students to display the leadership skills, discipline and work ethic expected by the most demanding colleges and careers. All classes are honors, Advanced Placement or college-level, and advanced elective courses are available in all subjects. The school strives to implement their humanities-based approach to excellence through extensive literature and writing courses, advanced courses and electives in English, social studies, modern and classical languages, math, science, social science and science research, as well as a required Queens College humanities seminar. All students are required to study two years of classical Greek or Latin. Students take eight academic subjects each semester, one more than the usual high school program.
II The book describes African Americans in the time period of slavery through civil war and civil rights revolution, to 1980s, after the segregation of the black race. Purpose The purpose of this project is to test common sports drinks for their electrolyte content and compare the results to the electrolyte content in common fruit juices. Hypothesis If fruit juices were to be compared to sports drinks for electrolyte content, then orange juice would contain the most electrolytes. Materials orange juice sports drink (Gatorade, PowerAde, Generic sports drink)
In order to determine the significance of the data found in these trials, statistical analysis tests were performed. A significance value of 0.05 was selected and after running the statistical analysis tests, both the Young’s modulus and elastic toughness had a significant value of less than 0.05. The null hypothesis was then rejected, confirming that our data was acceptable. After comparing the Young’s modulus and elastic toughness of neoprene and silicone to skin, it was determined that silicone would make the best skin substitute. Skin has a Young’s modulus of 0.05 to 3.51 MPa [2].
The group hypothesized that if worms in a bottle had dirt, compost, oxygen, and a good environment they would survive, reproduce, and improve soil. The groups hypothesis was partially supported by this experiment. For one, most worms did not survive. By the end of the experiment 5 worms remained although the group started out with 27.
Intro: Water pollution has caused so many problems to our waterways that no one really knows how to help. Water pollution caused; dead zones, oil spills, garbage floating around, and unsafe drinking water. People disagree about water pollution because, people have found ways to improve and help out the problem that water pollution has caused around the world. Others believe that that water pollution has created situations and are in the process of figuring out solutions. Marine life habitats are getting destroyed, marine life is declining everyday, how and where the garbage is getting into the oceans, and the drinking water is becoming seriously unsafe to drink.
A way to encourage scientific enquiry in the classroom is through the use of practical investigations. In the context of thinking and working scientifically, investigations are activities where children can use their conceptual understanding and knowledge of science to find solutions to problems and questions (Skamp, 2012). Supported by Ward et al. (2006) who say that the term investigation is used for activities requiring children to make choices about what to change and measure. Instances where science lessons are practical and focus on the development skills linked with scientific enquiry and where emphasis was placed on the children carrying out investigations independently, were the most beneficial (Ofsted 2010).
Compare and contrast of apples and oranges The American comedy ‘Annoying Orange’ is probably the most popular online video series, where apple and orange are given life to make laughers. Undeniably, as can be seen from the comedy, apples and oranges are the most general fruits universally. The characteristic of apples and oranges are immensely similar in several aspects in terms of organic features; on the contrary, regarding their conventional customs, they contradict variously.
