What is scientific writing? Explain. Scientific writing is the writing of report, journal, literature or review of a done research. Scientific writing is another form of communication that tries to deliver a message to the readers. Its goal is to deliver the message to the readers with them having minimum effort to understand the message. As Einstein quoted, “if you can’t explain it simply, you don’t understand it well enough”. This quote however doesn’t not seem to be exactly true. Those who can perform well in the stage of science do not necessarily possess this kind of communication skills. Writing is a skill. Like other skills, it needs to be learnt and trained while it is not inborn. Hence, they fail to communicate as a writer. The exceptions to this would be in relation to common knowledge. To prevent plagiarism from happening, most Universities use certain softwares to detect which sentence, paragraph or text has been copied into their work. The objective of plagiarism’s prevention is to enable the student to learn and understand their work then to voice out their independent opinion instead of mimicking other’s job. To avoid plagiarism, simply not copy any of the other persons work. Provide proper citation whenever there’s a part that has been copied into the work. Paraphrasing is another option for the students to understand the idea hence to generate back the idea in their own words. The other purpose of preventing plagiarism in the way of providing citation is to allow the readers to trace the idea back to its origin. From this way, the readers will be able to determine where the idea came from, who proposed the idea, when was it proposed and any other questionable
