1.) The Quartering Act of 1774. 2.) The Quartering Act of 1774 was created and passed by parliament along with the other Intolerable Acts as a response to the Boston Tea Party. Great Britain was trying to punish the American Colonies and show that they had power. They also passed this act in an attempt to stop radicalism in the colonies. 3.) The Quartering Act of 1774 was used to try to stop rebellion in the colonies. Because of recent rebellions, parliament wanted their troops to be among the colonies so that they could attempt to stop these rebellions. The new Quartering Act was nearly the same as the Quartering a Act of 1765 as it stated that Great Britain had the right to house troops in barracks and public houses in the colonies. However,
