When I unexpectedly received an A in this AP class, it gave me the confidence to believe that I can actually do anything if I just put my mind into it. This motivated me to do more and accept more challenges causing me to take more AP classes to further prove myself. I am not doing this to please my 9th grade English teacher or other people. I am working this hard because I want to prove to myself that I can accomplish anything
The biggest headaches I get are from those students who have no training and no experience—yet they’re certain they have a divine gift or instinct for executive protection. These students are trainable, but they might have to repeat the class after some field experience to really understand what is new and different about this discipline. Repeating my classes is always free, and some lessons are much more real to students the second time around. I have a great track record with the quality of students who have come through my school.
I think without the knowledge from this class I would not have done as well as I did on that paper. That is why I am grateful for this class because it helps me write papers for others classes and do well. In the end, Dual English Comp has caused me a lot of stress but it has also opened my mind up to writing a successful college paper. I learned new things from writing a thesis to the correct apostrophe positions, to how to cite things correctly.
This project has prepared for collage because I have learned time management skills. The time management skill that I have developed has helped me in other classes. My grades are great because of my time management skills and English is the core class that students can learn time management skills. These essays have stressed me, out but if I did not do them, I would not have learned efficient time management
The chemotherapy included taking countless pills that would cause me to be bald, emotional, and produce warts on my fingers. The weeks not spent in the hospital were mostly spent at school, where I was marked as “different” or “not normal” because of the side effects of the medication. The way that I was excluded from activities has only encouraged me to become better, it has allowed me perceive greatness and gave me the confidence to believe in myself and not be concerned about think of me. My body may have been fragile but my will to continue was still strong, and I was determined to get rid of my abnormality, that separated me from the others.
Being the first in my family to go to college is is not only such an honor, but a great responsibility. I have learned not to get caught up in my own parent’s mistakes, but to learn from them. When I didn’t do particularly well on my math regents, and instead of just accepting the grade, my parents constantly reminded me of the consequences if I did not do well on the retake of the exam. They also made sure that I know that I am smart, and just one bad grade isn’t going to change that. The constant reminders and words of encouragement definitely helped me through the exam, as I received a passing
Over the course of this semester, I have learned a lot of different things about writing in English 101. My writing techniques and methods have improved drastically compared to what they used to be, especially my drafting. But other things like my grammar were at a decent level. I have become so much more efficient at writing than I have ever been in the past. With my current drafting process, I write my entire essay, read what I have written and add a little bit more if something comes to mind.
Over the course of this class I have greatly improved my writing skills. Although I have kept my grade at a 95% for each paper, it is evident that I am a different type of writer from when I wrote my first paper in this class. By improving on quote integration, correct grammar, and strong thesis', I have been able to become a more skilled and better all around writer. It is especially clear to see the improvement in my spelling and grammar. On the first paper I made 6 mistakes, the second paper 4, and the final paper none.
The school that I went to offered sheltered classes for the people who did not know english and they were taught english. I wanted to learn english fast and go to regular classes so I worked hard and studied a lot. I would spend at least two hour a day studying in order to leave the sheltered classes and go to the regular class. I was able to get out of sheltered classes the second year which is fast compared to other people.
In addition, there is one of children that just started entering normal school with taking care by youth worker and a little bit helping of us by teaching him English, so I and my volunteering friends really expect these children to have great future as
For example, the ALP was tough at first but during all the journals, the freewrites, and the essays were really were not so bad and they were easier because I paid attention to my professor on writing better and to make my emotions on paper,. To summarize how Brookdale was a good choice for me was I met good people, the courses, less money to spend, has a great hands on learning experience, and getting good grades. For all the new students in the ALP, learn and enjoy being in that program because that program really helped me learn two English courses in one semester so that
I took English 111 because it is a required class and for no other reason. I came into this class expecting it to be just something I had to get through or check off to continue on with my degree. I did not expect to learn much either, but I was wrong. I have taken this class and I honestly think that it has helped me. I have learned new concepts and refreshed my memory on old ones.
Making sure there is minimal grammar errors is important, because it will make it easier for the readers to understand the essay, just like the sentence and thesis errors. When I would review my drafts for each essay, I started to look harder for these errors with each essay as the class progressed. I started to find more and more errors that I know I would not have found in the beginning of this class. There is an article that helped me learn to truly revise my essays, the title is, “Revision Strategies of Student Writers”, it is by Nancy Sommers. It is about different strategies students can use to revise their paper.
College algebra is fast paced! The work is hard but rewarding up to this point. I’ve found success in studying but realize that I need to keep up with the pace of the class more and by being creative in how I reach my goals. The more I learn, the more I find examples of in society and the world around me.
