After graduated from high school, I was planning to go to college and now I am attending to Evergreen. Some examples include getting a job, having a family, being a successful business person, becoming famous, etc. It is also important to have goals because it can motivate you and keep you active. One important goal for me is to go to college so I can have a good education, become more social, and find something I want to do when I grow up.

In my opinion, I believe that people should go to college because people that go to college and graduate have a lower unemployment rate than others who did not, college graduates get paid more, and college is a good investment of money. To begin, college graduates have a lower unemployment rate. In a graph made by the Bureau of Labor statistics it states the unemployment rate for people depending on how far they went with education.
The reason I want to attend the United States Military Academy is simple: I believe the education, training and atmosphere will best prepare me to be an officer in the United States Army. The reason I want to be an active duty officer in the Army is more complex. First, since I was young, I wanted to be an officer in the military. My great grandfather was in World War One, my grandfather was in an Army infantryman in World War Two and my father proudly served in the Navy. I want to be like these men and be able to share stories with my children like my family has shared with me.

When I look back at my high school years, I think about why I kept going and why I am at the point of completing college applications and getting ready to move onto higher education. My family has been a big part of my life, most especially in high school, and it’s not just because of my parents and their monetary support, or my grandma and her prayers and praise, or my sisters and their support, but because of the culture and community they’ve allowed me to be a part of. My parents became U.S. Citizens upon coming from the Philippines. My mom had been petitioned by her uncle, and my dad had enlisted into the U.S. Navy.
Growing up in a small, farming town has made me the person I am today. 4-H is a way for children to become active in their small communities. It has been a part of my life since I was little. 4-H has taught me many important lessons in life. As the current president and reporter of my club, I have to be organized, responsible and a leader.
