Second of all, we need more sleep, if you can 't fall asleep one day of the week it will mess up your whole sleeping schedule. Lastly we will have more time to see our family members out of state. Although some parents would have to find daycare for their child. Have you ever not liked a teacher? Then maybe when you get a break you can have a fresh start with your teachers too.

With 34 countries in the world, US has the least amount of school days in a year. Most people may say that an year-round school can give nothing other than stress to students, but there are some positive effects to it. Most educators and school boards claim repeatedly that learning loss would be eliminated from shorter breaks in a school round
My school system wants to make year round school possible, and this is an improbable idea. Year round school with longer breaks will help students be less bored, not forget information, and have more free time. When I return from summer break, I can’t even remember what 2 + 2 is! Summer break is too long and school should be year round with longer breaks throughout the year. We all know the terrible feeling of having nothing to do.
I mean, getting a break every six weeks can feel exhausting for students as going to school for six weeks then getting a break just to go back for another six weeks. In the text “The Pros and Cons of Year-Round Schools” it states, “... it was really hard to get involved in the work because as soon as you get geared up, you had to gear back down”. You may think that kids getting a two week break can give them time to relax from school, ;however kids would not
Year-round school have increased performance rates considering not having a long break when many students lose much information. Students tend to retain more information without the long summer break. Year-round school further reduce teacher and student burnout. Students that are in school during the summer find it harder to concentrate on the work that they are doing in school because they are waiting to get out of school into the nice weather. Year round schools make it difficult to learn with many breaks that they are given which can affect them negatively in and out of school. Year round schools should give long breaks instead of many little breaks because it is shown that there is no difference in learning between year round schools and traditional schools. During 2011-2012 about 3,700 schools were all year round schools and these schools didn’t benefit students and teachers in all good ways.
While I was looking for a topic for my hot topic, this one caught my eye. At first, I didn’t know what a closed campus meant, but after doing some research I found out exactly what it means. A closed campus means that the students must stay on campus until the end of the school day, an open campus means that the students are free to leave campus during the school day. I honestly had no idea that a high school could have be open or closed. My high school was open the whole time I was there, and it still is now.
This quote helps explain why we should have a four day week. This isn't the only reason though. In addition, not only are tests scores better, but also student attendance. In the article, The Four Day School Week, by Don Kordosky, the author states, “ Attendance in some schools increased 3% as against available instructional hours” (Crosscut: "The Four-day school week: why less really is more").
(Weller 3). This is a problem because it takes away quality family time from students, which is essential for their well-being. Thirdly, a second benefit is that the year-round schooling system helps solve the problem of overcrowding. (Zubrzycki 1). Since all students wouldn 't be in school all at the same time, it eliminates the overcrowding problem.
The day that we don’t have school could be the day that we could make up work and turn in assignments online on classroom. A little homework for each class would help out a lot. Teachers want to teach students and have them know all the knowledge that they teach and maybe use it in the later day lives and longer days with longer periods would let those teachers take their time teaching their subjects. This also allows students to take their time in getting their toughest work done. The class periods would probably be over an hour long but longer school days is a must if you for sure have four day weeks.
They need time to grade exams and finalize grades from the previous semester, and they only have a short break between school years (Towler). By the time they do this, they might have less than a week to prepare themselves, their lessons, and their rooms (Towler). This is not an adequate amount of time for the teachers and it could impact students learning as well (Towler). Teachers also might have a hard time collaborating with each other because many of them are on different tracks (Towler). Students on different tracks might be learning completely different, or maybe even opposite lessons due to lack of collaboration between their teachers (Towler).
For high schools specifically, attendance is a serious issue. Students would be less reluctant to go to school if either a Friday or Monday was omitted from the school week. Because of this, students might have an improved attitude at school, which could lead to less violence. Going to school one less day per week would also conserve energy and save money for the school. For students whose parent or guardian drives them to and from school, driving to and from school one less time during the week would save them gas.
Finally, if school started later it would be more convenient for students’, parents,

Debate essay Ask anyone and I’m pretty sure they would tell you they want longer weekends. Students start looking forward to 3pm on Friday the minute their alarm wakes them up on Monday morning. Weekends are opportunities for students to let go of stress and to focus on the activities they enjoy. Some people just want longer weekends because they’re too lazy or busy. Longer weekends would make school more and exciting for students because it would give them more opportunities for self-directed work.
“Whether physical or mental, health problems can be so distracting that they make it impossible for students to do their best. If a health problem, either suffered by yourself or a family member, is causing you to fall behind and your grades to suffer, you may need some time off” (Wilson). This quote shows that not taking a break could drop your grades and might even cause you to fail. Therefore, taking a break from school would refresh your brain and allow you to do well in school. Family is the most important thing in life, not seeing family too often might be one of the biggest mistakes and regrets.
