It is sad to say that boys and girls are discriminated or judged for playing together on the same team. I do believe that they should be able to be on the same team without the feeling of others disapproving of their choice. With that being said, I think we should make sports more open to both genders. Such as making a boys and girls volleyball team or a football team that allows both boys and girls to join. I know a change like that may not happen for a while, but why not start trying
For example, sweatpants are not against dress code but they don’t show professionalism. They are also just students and should be able to live the child life as long as they can. These reasons are why dress codes should be banned. There should be no school dress code because it limits the freedom of expression, targets girls, and they are hard to enforce. Girls should not have to follow extra rules because boys can't control themselves around girls.
Since Creon gave their brother Eteocles a proper one, she believes that he is wrong for not giving Polyneices one. Antigone goes against the rules of society because of her bravery, and chooses that she wants to be a voice for all women, because in Greek society women don’t have a say on what they can and can’t do. Her bravery helps her rebel against those rules so they have equal rights compared to men. When Ismene hears what Antigone is planning she is worried because she is afraid to disobey the men who expect highly of her. She feels women are ruled by men because they are weak and Antigone has asked Ismene to help her in breaking the law, and to giving her brother a proper burial.
Girls should get to play on boys sports teams because they are just as good as boys, they are more or just as physically fit as boys and they may not be built the same but they can be just as powerful. Just because a boy and a girl are built physically different that shouldn’t matter. Females are told to have less muscle distribution than males do. So even though they may have more
Another argument many believe in is that the military is not appropriate for women due to its traditional gender stereotypes. These people tend to object to soldiers showing stereotypical feminine qualities. Yet, it has been proven that women can show the qualities of a stereotypical soldier and leave their femininity behind while working. Although women in combat may seem as a concern to only a small group of people, it should in fact concern anyone who cares about the equality of women in masculine ruled careers. Women should be given the same and equal opportunities as males when it comes to the military, as they are able to perform to the same physical fitness standards and training, increase cohesion and moral in a military unit, and challenge the old traditional masculine stereotypes
As a result, women have never gotten all the perks that men’s sports attain. Multiple women’s sports athletes, and fans, have complained about the unequal pay. Day after day women athletes wake up and do what they love just like men, but still don’t receive the same amount of pay nor respect. Supporters feel it’s substandard that women still don’t even come close to acquire the same pay as men. However, others believe women’s sports aren’t as real as
Despite the fact that they were desirable creatures who provoked the attention of males all over the world, who’s beauty was appreciated and who’s input were vital when it came to keeping the household together and raising children; women did not have the ideal place in society. This was because they were seen as the weaker gender, they had to be satisfied with being ruled by males, and before the revolution of women empowerment, those who were feminists by heart had to suffer in silence. It was highly inappropriate for a woman to step out of line and in some countries such an action would even be punishable by death. The French constitution of 1792 banned women from public life, and Emperor Napoleon’s Civil code of 1804 was implemented in Europe, subsequently. This code denied women any legal rights and access to divorce, which meant that their husbands had control over them, confining them to a subordinate, domestic role.
Although most stereotypes are embellished, all stereotypes are partly based on facts. One example of a stereotype is that only boys can play sports. This is a stereotype because of the inaccuracy of the statement due to the many famous female athletes, such as; Chloe Kim, Kerri Walsh Jennings, and Gabby Douglas, just to name a few. Misconceptions are an assumption a person or group has towards a certain characteristic of a class. They are typically formed from stereotypes and usually have an unfounded basis.
Both men and women are victims of this but research proves that when are those who are mostly affected. Women receive less recognition than men and are classified as weak. Women too are called “tomboy” for joining a stereotypical male’s sport or for joining any sport in general. With that said, it also prevents people from discovering their true passion for the fear of society’s perception. Since gender discrimination in sports foes not give men and women equal rights and opportunities, promoting sports without gender divisions will lessen this.
The media coverage plays a crucial role in female sports and is a determinant as to how much athletes tend to make, so if the media don’t show women’s sports, how will there ever be gender equality in terms of prize money? “More than two-thirds said they could not make a living as a sportswomen” giving the impression that women are not being paid as fairly as men. Females are routinely paid less than males in most sports. This totally undermines the ideals of gender equality in the sporting world. Young females reading the article will reconsider becoming athletes, no matter how talented, due to the fact that two-thirds of the women currently in the sporting world are saying that it is hard to make a living as a sports
