As a result of searching the existing literature, the researcher was able to obtain data that correlated exceptionally well with the research topic. I took suggestion from guidance counselors and from my uncle about my career, I was depressed about my career because in my mind only one thing repeats, how I am going to live in this world and what I am going
INTRODUCTION Some goals I have for this paper is for people to understand that people’s versions of things are not always going to be the what it is supposed to be and that people have opinions. Another goal is that people don’t judge this paper because it is not perfect, humans are not perfect. Lastly, my final goal for this paper is for it to be good enough for me to do more productive things. SURVEY RESULTS The basic survey results made a graph about what I am better at.
As the clock approaches midnight on a Sunday evening, a young teenager is still staring at a large collection of numbers and letters while breathing deeply and slowly shaking the head in confusion. It is a scene that is far too familiar to a typical hard working high school student. In this generation, high school students, especially seniors, are facing a tremendous amount of stress as education becomes ever so important for success. An annual survey by the American Psychological Association revealed that present day teens are actually more stressed than adults. On a 10-point scale, the average teen experiences a stress level of around 5.8 compared to 5.1 for the average adult.
Focus 2 Assignment – Reflection Upon completing the Focus 2 career assessment program, I am quite impressed at the quality of information it presents. It allowed me to not only look at careers that would fit my personality, but also those that take into consideration the fields I am already interested in. Also, as with any form of self-assessment, there were strengths and weaknesses that I did not expect based on how I feel I live my life currently. Beginning chronologically, the program had me complete two subjective, current measures of my professional career.
This theory is about career decision marketing and development based on social learning. Career decisions are the product of an uncountable number of learning experiences made possible by encounters with the people, institutions and events in a person’s particular environment. Krumboltz propose that people choose their careers based on what they have learned. The four main factors that influence career choice are genetics influences, environmental conditions and events, learning experiences and task approach skills. Genetic influences are inherited rather than learned such as physical appearance.

I have always wanted to be a surgeon since I was a kid. Doctors were treated like gods in my home country, Ethiopia. I was a shy little boy who dreamt big in my neighborhood and people would make fun of my goal due to the fact that there were no doctors in our neighborhood. They believed that I was not smart and strong enough to be a doctor. Besides my mother and aunt, nobody knew what I was capable of.
I am deciding to apply to the University of Wisconsin-Madison because I am intrigued by the opportunities the university has to offer. During my time at UW-Madison I hope to participate in intramural sports, get a job, receive an excellent education, and much more. The city life offers a diverse culture and allows you to learn about and to appreciate life. As I want to be a part of the nursing program I would utilize the opportunity to work at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and to work alongside other students trying to achieve the same goal as I am.

I learned many things at InstaCareer that will assist me in preparing for a career fair or networking event. One thing I learned is to wear either a suit, or the equivalent of a suit without the jacket. This will make me look more professional, and marketable to potential employers. Another thing I learned is it is better to have a professional looking portfolio to carry my resumes around in. This will accomplish two things for me.

One career that interests me is being a psychologist. The reason I want to be a psychologist is because it seems interesting and I like to help people who have problems. These problems include them being depressed, suicidal, or have some type of problem such as autism. One other reason I want to do this career is because I have those types of problems and I understand how a lot of people will feel, and how they may react so I want to be able to help others.
Mitchell and Krumboltz (2012) also argues that a barrier to set goals and to make satisfying choices is to have irrational believes about certain aspects such as career choices and development. Amundson (2009) suggest that clients need to identify these irrational beliefs to move past them and it is therefore important for the career counsellor to help clients identify them. According to the career decision-making theory, the primary focus of decision making and career development is learning through experiences and human interaction (Mitchell & Krumboltz, 2012). The third proposition of the happenstance theory states that it is important to focus on client behaviour (Krumboltz, 2009). “The success of counselling is assessed by what the client accomplishes in the real world outside the counselling session” (Krumboltz, 2009).
