The transport problem of our Malaysian road systems are generally can be categorized in many factors. It all has relation that contributed to the over speed. As urban economy and development is dependent and directly influences by the transport,( Hill, 1965) the growing population in Malaysia has expended the growth of urbanization that created the transport problem. Congestion is the main issue at hand in the urban area such as Kuala Lumpur which is our capital. The introduction of multiple public transports makes the travel in demand grow. At this point, the economy of Malaysia has contributed to the producing cars in the state-owned Proton which is the national cars produced at cheap cost and made easy to purchase by Malaysian, with many promotion and marketing tools that supposed to the sales of motor vehicles on road for Proton. …show more content…
This makes the young drivers on the road of Malaysia seen growing. This factor of rapid urbanization and motorization seen in Malaysia is due to its expanding economy since 1987 ( Monkolva et al: 2001). The expansion of urban growth among younger drivers or all new drivers on the road is one of the important features on urban population growth. This means many people in Malaysia can purchase cars. As there are multiple factors that affect the road transport problems in Malaysia and the growth of new drivers on the road contributed to congestion, accident, pollution, lack of public infrastructure for parking lots, we aim to focus speed limit problem that contributes accident on
Increased speed limits have threatened many lives in Saudi Arabia, as well as the rest of the world. According to, to the latest reports on accidents, in KSA, there is a traffic accident every minute, totalling to 7,000 death and 39,000 injuries annually. This problem has caused much pain for many families and is a financial burden on anyone who has been in an accident or has been affected by the accident. Speed limits have been placed but have not been enforced in a strict manner throughout KSA. The speed limit for cars ranges from 80-120 km/h but this rule hasn’t been enforced until around a year and a half ago, a system called “saher” has been placed to ensure that all citizens drive under the speed limit yet, this system has been met with much hatred, as citizens in anger destroy the camera and speed away, despite the decrease in the number of death after the installation of this system, the death rate from car accidents is still quite high, what we need is a decrease in the speed limit even more, this will cause people to slow down and that will also decrease the probability and the risk of a car accidents.
In order to provide an insight of safety consideration for exceeding speed limit of the Year 12 students, Question 4 was designed. There was 68% of them choose the correct answer that limiting speed must not be exceeded. 68% is a vast improvement from the first survery where only 44 % of them answered correctly. (Refer in appendix).
Speeding is a issue to the highways and the local roads as well. Many drivers take the local roads to escape traffic, which causes many accidents. The local streets’ accidents contribute to more than half of all the vehicle accidents.

Being on the road and driving a car can be very dangerous. There are many causes to crashes and death that can happen on the roads. Speeding is one of the many causes to crashes. Another cause is following to closely. There are many other causes like not keeping in proper lane, not yielding to the right of way, and running off the road.
“Road crashes are the leading cause of death among young people ages 15-29, and the second leading cause of death worldwide among young people ages 5-14” (Asirt, 2016). Rising the age on driving is important, because the age play an important role in driving. Many people consider that driving at young age will have more accidents. Also, drivers should have high skills in driving, and how they can avoid accidents in many cases. Some teenagers get excited about driving, and they get the license quickly without performing.
This means that our governments should invest in redesigning our road, highways and freeways to cope with high speed limits. High speed limits do not mean that our road has become unsafe, but their design is not appropriate for certain new speed limits. Our roads have been the same for many years and have not been updated for decades. In addition to that, the reckless driving, lack of driving and road maturity is causing hundreds of causalities yearly. The drivers on the road lack respect, gratefulness and gratitude to other drivers and that’s why accidents are occurring.
Speed limits are vital to ensure people’s safety, both the driver’s and surrounding pedestrians. The most common cause of road accidents are because of speeding. The higher speed increases the chance of an accident. Enforcing speed limits may help prevent accident that occur on roads. Statistics show the Each year over 700 people are killed in crashes involving someone exceeding the speed limit.
Export duty charged from 140% to 300% based on car’s engine (royal Malaysian customs and excise department, 2000). 2. Economical factor Economic factor play an important role in automobile industry. During the financial crises economic condition was not good, the sales of vehicles was down. The demand of luxury cars went down.
The problems caused by speed limits on the highways can not only be solved by looking at the many mistakes in thinking that people have about speed but by looking at the many advantages of no speed limits on
By making the driving school more computer interactive and simulated to real life speeds, teenagers will be able to react to real life scenarios. My issue of the 16 – 25-year-old demographic got one-third of all speeding tickets throughout the year. In their article, their research pointed out that with more simulation people inexperienced and more experienced driving will be able to become better and safer drivers on the road. The third article, profiling high-range speeding offenders: Investigating criminal history, personal characteristics, traffic offences, and crash history, supports the findings that were found by Lavoie, Lee, Allison and Parker.
Second important factor could be a cause of car accident is speed, Exceeding speed limit causes a series car accidents can lead to death, with exceeding speed the driver lose control of his car and then occurs an accidents. People should understand that speeding not going to save much time for them, instead; they will increase the danger to themselves. Over speeding is against the law and many people are selfish in respect that they find the speed ticket is irritating. People exceed speed for many reasons such as being late, show off, or for fun, they put their own lives and other people lives at risk.
One of the main reasons is the continuous growth of population. We can say that the increase of population is directly proportional to the increase of cars. This in turn also increases the risk of having traffic congestion. Having low or poor public transportation is another cause of traffic problems. If there are insufficient public transport vehicles like buses and trains, then instead of using the public transportation offered, the people will have the tendency to buy their personal and private mode of transportation.
With the increase of population the number of vehicles in the urban areas will also increase, but if the land area won’t get expand it will lead to traffic congestion. This is a huge negative impact on the country’s economy. The main negative impact from traffic congestion is the wastage of fuel, energy. Other than that; wastage of time, difficulties in parking, less efficiency and effectiveness are some negative impacts of traffic congestions. • HIGH MAINTANANCE COST
