Factors influencing suicide among youths at Kinondoni Municipality in Dar Es Salaam Tnazania

Background: Suicide ideation is the predictor of the self injury (suicide). In the literatures, the factors influencing suicide among youths tend to vary across the world. This provides a discrepancy results in questions about factors. The objective of this study was to assess the factors influencing suicide in youths and common means used to attempt suicide at Kinondoni municipality.
Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted at Kawe ward, Kinondoni Municipality in Dar es Salaam between February and March, 2016. A total of 100 secondary

Mental disorder (Depression and substance related disorders) are major risk factor for suicide in Europe and North America, however in Asia countries impulsiveness plays an important role. Suicide is complex with psychological, social, biological, cultural and environmental factors involved (WHO, 2011) and may differ across countries.
Attempt to define suicide have led to the concept of suicidal process. A sequence that goes from suicidal ideation, plans and then to attempts and ultimately death through a specification (Bertolote, 2009)
World Health Organization (WHO) has compiled and disseminated on mortality reported by its member states, in accordance with its constitution. More than 120 countries report mortality data today. Data from developed countries (Europe, North America and few countries in western Pacific Region) are received on regular basis. Most of developing countries in Latin America, Asia and Eastern Mediterranean region report on a less regular basis where very few countries in Africa report mortality data regularly to World Health Organization. About 70 least developing countries especially in Africa and Southeast Asia, do not maintain vital registration systems due to inadequate means of mortality data collection and process mortality data (Fleischmann,

Assisted Suicided Every 16.2 minutes, there are people in the world that take their own life by killing themselves.(Purity, 9) There are are over 40,000 people every year that commit suicide.(Purity, 10) Suicide is the leading cause of death for those of the age of 15-24 years old.(Purity, 13) However, coming up in the media through the last 20 years has been the idea of ending your life by assisted suicide. Assisted suicide is the practice of ending someone 's life.(Newton, 7) A terminal illness is when you have a disease that will end your life within the near future.
SUICIDE RATES AMONG ETHNIC GROUPS It is often difficult to obtain accurate data for suicide rates among ethnic groups in various countries. Aggregated figures often hide major geographic discrepancies and variations in rates between groups within a country. For example, there are high rates of suicide among the aboriginal peoples of Australia and New Zealand compared with those of the colonists.
In The Program there is a worldwide epidemic of teen suicide. Sloane’s brother and best friend killing themselves, her brother and other best friend getting admitted to The Program has Sloane’s parents thinking that these events will lead her into thoughts of suicide. That made Sloane’s mom decided to put her into The Program. In The Program there are pills that take the “bad” memories away. While Sloane is in The Program she meets a guy named Realm who is secretly working for The Program, but has Sloanes best interest at heart.
The price to pay for assisted suicide costs a lot more than just money. Some of the elderly or sick people believe that they would become a financial burden to their friends and loved ones. In fact, in one of the states where assisted suicide is allowed, a poll was taken. The poll revealed that 66% of citizens would only consider assisted suicide because of being a financial burden on their loved ones. One person even says “If I had terminal cancer, I had a few weeks to live, I was in tremendous amount of pain - if they just effectively wanted to turn off the switch and legalize that by legalizing euthanasia, I'd want that” (Key).

Losing a loved one is very difficult to handle throughout your life. Have you ever felt like giving up on life as well because your other behalf or your loved one passed away due to suicide and not being able to see them again until the afterlife? Suicide is the act of ending your own death at your own hand to escape the pain or suffering from the world. It should be meant to enjoy life like everyone else and not taking your own life just by the opinion of others or by the disaster of the world or by any body failure you might be experiencing. Accordingly, to the organization of the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention, suicide becomes the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S.
There are 175 countries in the world right now (Countries). The United States is ranked 48th in suicides. An alarming total of 44,193 people commits suicide here, each year (List). It’s daughters, sons, mothers, fathers, friends, and coworkers taking their life. It’s everyday people taking their life.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death among the youth aged 15-29. (WHO, 2014) Youth are the future of generation and work population. The human value and cost of a human life are then should be questioned in the social norm. Besides, a significant number of people, includes governments, international and national non-government organizations, religious groups and education institutes emphasises that actions have to be taken to prevent suicide problem.
During the years of university, students are overloaded with assignments, projects, presentations, quizzes and exams. These works and exams can create a lot of stress and pressures for university students who are expected to perform excellently in classes. Suicide is the tragic result students choose after facing these incidents. According to Emory Cares 4 U, “Suicide is the second-leading cause of death among people aged 25 to 34 and the third-leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 24” (Emory University, 2016). The causes of suicide in university students are academic and social pressure, inadequate coping skills with university works and feeling of failure or decreased performance.
Over the years the issue of suicide has been slowly increasing. It is now the third leading cause of death among young people. The effects of suicide are tragic and felt long after the individual has taken their own life. Some people who consider suicide, however, never make a “serious” attempt at it. For every attempted suicide, there is said to be more than one person whose thought of suicide has never translated into an actual attempt.
Suicide is a dominant cause of death among teenagers and young adults. The rate of suicides and suicide attempts increases from time to time. For some, suicide is the permanent solution to a temporary problem and most pressing public health issues across the world. Suicides case is so often these days even becoming a trend and we are not even flinch anymore. The depression and substances abuse for teenagers currently become issues that lead to suicide cases among teenagers.
Teenage suicide, in other words, youth suicide has not been a new issue in modern life nowadays. This matter has become a tragedy over the world, a burden for both governments and families. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide is the third-leading cause of death for 15-24 years old, after accidents and homicide. The statistics of CDC estimates that at least 25 attempts are made for every completed teen suicide. From the number of deaths and the serious of consequences, not only authorities but also parents, siblings and friends take actions to prevent and help young people.
How Do We Fight Youth Depression? In today’s world, depression is the first leading cause of adolescent suicides. It is a growing problem in our present society and is often a major contributing factor to one’s personality. According to the National Institute of Mental Health (of the US), one out of every four teenagers undergoes depression.
