After watching the video, one learns that Cyntoia Brown was born to an alcoholic, mentally incapable sixteen year old child named Georgina. Gina actually admits that she had no idea how to care for an infant, and eight short months after giving birth, Gina was introduced to crack cocaine. Cyntoia was passed around to several foster families during her young life, until Gina finally made an informal arrangement for one of her friend’s mother, Ellenette, to raise Cyntoia as her own. When asked to describe her home life, Cyntoia says that her mother, Ellenette, “nags” her constantly, asking her to be more like her biological daughter and her father is always slapping her around just because he wants to do so. Cyntoia’s biological family has several …show more content…
I believe that it was unethical for the police to question her without a parent present and without her attorney. The video does not go into detail exactly what was admissible in court about her mental state, but one could speculate that the jury did not put much thought into the fact that Cyntoia was a sixteen year old prostitute that was scared and frightened to be at this strangers house by herself. The video was also unclear as to why she was charged with first degree murder, because that implies premeditation and the facts that were presented does not show any premeditation on her …show more content…
She also makes a list of her sexual partners and says that out of the thirty-two sexual partners, only four was someone that she actually wanted to have sex with. She even states that some of her sexual partners were actually her relatives, but she does not go into detail. The video then jumps to a clip of her adoptive mother commenting on the fact that Cyntoia admits to the sexual abuse from so many sexual partners and Ellenette continues to “blame” Cyntoia for not coming to her and discussing it further while it was happening. I believe that if Ellenette was actually there for Cyntoia and made her feel as though she would be free to come to her and talk then why did Cyntoia not do it? Could it be that Cyntoia felt as though her mother would “nag” her and tell her to be more like Ellenette’s biological daughter? If Cyntoia had the counseling that she so desperately needed, would Johnny Allen be alive today? One can only

Jodi Arias was on trial for the death of Travis Alexander, an ex-boyfriend, who was killed in a ruthless manner. In the early stages, Jodi Arias denied visiting Alexander’s residence around the time of death and appeared confident that she would win the trial. Then she changed her story as new physical evidence placed her with the victim shortly before his death. This type of behavior does not look good for her. Right of the bat, the public defender should have pushed for advising Jodi to plead the fifth and not to testify.

Why take someone’s life for money or even worse than that why would you take a whole family’s life? It’s not right to kill someone for no reason, in fact it’s not right to kill anyone. Anyone who killed someone should get the death penalty because they deserve it. They just took someone’s life for no reason at all. So Perry and Dick should get the death penalty for killing an entire family for no reason at all.
Throughout the seventeenth century, religious freedom was essentially a key to the new forming colonies. Many pursued the “New World” looking to gain individual rights for their own personal beliefs- which we understand today as religious freedom. A baffling plague of Satan has arrived in our cursed town, and yet another girl has been convicted of witchery. Elizabeth Clarke, a young mistress, was recently accused of creating a pact with the Devil. A trial commenced last Tuesday at the Salem Town Hall with Persecutor Matthew Hopkins examining Clarke 's allegations. First accusations of her treason began with Clarke 's late lover, Reuben Taylor, whose mother was supposedly cursed by Clarke for not allowing her to be with Taylor as he lay dying.
Christopher Simmons killed this innocent woman and more punishment should have been given than what was. Simmons will sit in prison thinking that he got away with it. This does not set a good example for the younger generation, that if you want to murder someone then you can and you don't receive the death penalty, but jail for life. The death penalty was legal for minors in the State of Missouri, the death penalty was a fair punishment for Christopher Simmons and would have been the wisest punishment to give. No mercy should have been given to Simmons on this action.
Marie Angelique was a black slave, who with the help of her white lover was accused of setting a fire that burned down many buildings in Montreal, leaving hundreds homeless. Marie was arrested due to rumours that she set the fire and a trial was held. In the end the accused was found guilty and put to death. Examining the evidence further can prove that Marie Angelique was falsely accused and unjustly punished. This can be proven as her trail was extremely biased, there was not enough evidence to prove that she had done the crime, and that she was framed.
