The reason that this lingered in my mind was because babies are so defenseless and innocent. They were no threat and could have caused no harm to the Nazis, but the Nazis were so evil that they burned young babies alive. This stuck with me because although I knew the Nazis were evil people, even I didn’t go so far as to think that they would ruthlessly and systematically destroy helpless children.
