In this paper I will be arguing the points of why family courts should be the last thought when going through a divorce involving children and their psychological well-being in the stages of a child to an adult. Family Court, just like any other court has the job of figuring out whether a breach of legal right has taken place and what verdict would be right for the situation. The process of going to a family court is very time consuming and requires a great deal of money. This process of going to court for when it comes to addressing the fallout from the breakdown of a spousal relationship is not only hard
From an early age I have always had an interest in the legal system, as a child of divorcees the legal system has always had an impact on my life. I have always dreamed about being a family lawyer and have hoped that through hard work and dedication I could make my dream a reality; enter law school, successfully complete the bar exam and utilize my knowledge of the law to help those who may otherwise be left in the cold by the legal system. As I have grown older I have a new understanding of the realities of just how difficult it will be to make my dreams a reality. When writing this application, I had difficulty figuring out what I can say that will set me apart from other candidates. Growing up as a young girl I was always told that my attitude was perfect for me to become a lawyer – I never lost an argument. I took the advice and I ran with it. I boasted about becoming a lawyer. I started to research the various types of lawyers, their median salaries and the amount of years it would take me in school and to advance in my practice. Although I was focused on pursuing a career in the law I was also intrigued by the medical field.
