3.1. Accounting for Materials
3.1.1. Classifications of inventories o Raw materials
Raw material is the basic material that is processed and converted into finished goods. For the product, submarine buns, these are the raw materials and its price and quantities.
Ingredients, Prices and Quantities Floor Yeast Water Sesame Seeds Salt Improver Margarine
Price (MVR) 380 450 3300 45 180 800 440
Quantity 22 Kg 22 Packets 40 liters 20 Kg 24 Packets 22 Kg 25 Kg
o Work in progress
Work-in-process inventory is the units that remain incomplete at the end of a period. These units need the addition of more materials, labor or manufacturing overhead to be completed in the coming period. For example, flour, yeast sesame seeds, salt, improver and margarine left after a month of production. Like raw materials, work-in-process inventory is reported in the current assets section of the balance sheet.

Everyone has their reason for migrating to the United States of America. Some immigrants are determined to leave what would be consider the “Old World “ to seek fortune in the “ New World” . In Anzia Yezierska 's book “Bread Giver “ she presents a family working their way out of a falling poverty, to seek great fortune in America. The book follows Sara Smolinsky as she continues her development into womanhood in the 1920’s . She lived on the lower east side of New York around 1890.
Net purchases, including raw material cost, customer returns, scrap, and job closing costs, ended the month at 33.2% of sales compared 27.7% for July 2014. Sales volume, product mix, inventory write-offs, and metal pricing fluctuations influence overall raw material costs. The current month includes a one-time write-off of $36k for slow moving and obsolete inventory identified during the annual inventory review. Excluding the write-off, both sales mix and sales volume negatively affected gross margin for the month.
Wilkerson is currently using the traditional costing system. “Companies that use the traditional costing method assume that the volume metric is the underlying driver of manufacturing overhead cost.” Traditional product costing was established when direct material costs and direct labor costs accounted for the bulk of product costs incurred inside a firm. In the Wilkerson company, materials and labor costs are centered around the prices of materials and labor rates.

Family Background: I was born on January 11, 1999 in Miami, Florida. I spent most of my early childhood with my grandparents while my parents worked. My grandfather would wake up in the morning to make sure my brother and I went to school safe and by the time we finished there was always a homemade meal waiting for us, it was something I looked forward to. In spite of us having had a language barrier and them no longer being around the influence they instilled on me is tremendous. From them I learned to have the strength to deal with other challenging obstacles life had to offer.
