How would you feel, as a parent, watching your child get hit by another child on the football field, pass out, and have to be rushed to the hospital? No parent or child, for that matter, would ever want to be put through the trauma of that situation. However, this exact event is based on a true story, one of a 13 year old on the Chaminade Middle School tackle football team. I was on that team with him. The facts are there. If children are able to play tackle football at young ages, the risks are significantly higher for them to suffer a concussion and start the downward spiral of brain conditions that can come. So, you're a high school football star. You're playing a match, you've caught the ball thrown to you, then get tackled. Your head hits the ground with a loud, audible thump. And now, you have a concussion. This kind of thing happens to football stars all across the U.S. and other countries. In the 2005-06 season, over half a million head injuries were sustained by high school students, nationally. I am not say removing the sport from schools as a whole. However, it's understood that there are ways to attempt to make the sport safer, all while having it still be just as fun/entertaining. Updating the "armored" pads the athletes wear, making amends to some of the rules, different methods of training, are all ways to make things even just the slightest bit safer than they already are.

American football has many different aspects that helped change America today. Football has earned millions of fans to the game every year. The sport has changed and helped various people strive through life. At the same time, football has caused many downsides that have changed people’s lives forever. Through the beginning to now, football has been filled with many impacts and injuries that have changed the game.

For many years has football has been considered the utmost dangerous sport in high school, but recently many new studies have been made to prove the exact opposite. High school football gives money to the school and improves the school. In high school sports when a team wins the championship the school gets money that can be used towards hiring new teachers, providing scholarships for students, buying new books, and overall improving the school itself.

Concussions which is a blow to the head causing brain trauma that can last several weeks and other injuries that has just as high risks like a concussion. September 26, 1928, a football league was created for professional football players called the NFL. The start of the league has always been at high probability for its injuries. In order to continue to play the game that countless people fell in love with, the NFL has to take serious safety precautions such as helmets and pads. NFL's necessity rules, such as unnecessary kids being penalized, are being utilized to reduce life alternate injuries and provide a better experience for the players and the fans.

Instead of going with Rebook, who was the NFL sponsor making apparel for every team, he would rather have all the profits gained for the team rather than paying others to create their apparel (14). The Cowboys had the option to use Rebook as their supplier, but at that time they decided not to use them anymore even if they had to invest more money. This was huge opportunity for the Cowboys because now they don’t have to worry about paying suppliers, and producers. They will be getting all the profits to themselves (8). Being a quarterback is probably one of the most difficult positions in the game of football. It requires strength, accuracy, speed, and good football intelligence. Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota were the top two overall picks in the 2015 NFL draft. They both had a great college run as the best college quarterbacks in the country. During their college games it was really hard to tell who the better quarterback was, but after they joined the NFL it became very clear. Mariota has shown to be more NFL ready than Winston by his athleticism and his higher football intelligence.

Players around the league even have their own fantasy leagues with other players in the NFL. But the main part that makes football so interesting is its history without it, you would have never know how the super bowl came to be and the wonderful coaches that made the game competitive and filled with life long experiences.

Nearly all Americans love sports but is it really worth it. In this generation, competitive sports has become more dangerous than ever sports experts are starting to worry that competitive sports has a more negative effect than a positive effect on children. Most competitive sports can lead to severe injuries, pressure which can lead the youth using illegal drugs, and all the money parents spend on their kids to play sports is ridiculous, and worst of all most children are starting to burn out of sports emotionally and physically.Competitive sports do not have a positive effect on all children because of the cost, pressure/injury, and enjoyment.
